So hows the Investigation going?FtoSam wrote:Sorry for not posting lately guys. Had a few things come up at work which have kept me busy.
CF Group Buys are on hold pending investigation into wether we are going to receive reliable parts from the supplier.
Will let you all know when I have more info.
Sorry for any delays, but we want everyone to be happy.

remember these r the things u have to check sam:
quality (fitting issues, as we all know how much fun CF and fibreglass things r to fit if they r of poor quality)
how much to fit them, or can it be a DIY
how do we attactch the locking mechinisim.
is it full CF or cf skin over steel/FG/somethign else completely random frame.
is it ok to mount wings etc... while we r at it, someone chase up some CF wings, cos it's going to looks just spastic if u have a CF boot and a painted wing lol)

I would assume fitting is a DIY. Will check regarding the locking mechanism. Im assuming for that price it would have to be Fibreglass overlaid with CF... Which doesnt matter anyway, same weight same look...
Should be able to handle a wing no worries, but no way am i putting a wing on this... looks so hot without one.
Thanks for the points Yang, i hadnt thought of a couple of those.

i just want a good looking CF wing to go with the CF boot lol
any suggestions anyone?
and i'm happy as long as it's not CF over steel/wood lol (a friend had a "fibreglass" front bar for his 244 volvo... which we later found out was actually FG overlaid on MDF lol)

OK, I've suddenly become very interested in this ... partly cause my spoiler is faded as hell & I want to get rid of it completely & go for the spoilerless look... and if its gonna cost $400 just to get some holes filled & resprayed i'd rather just get this..
any word on whats happening with it? Has it been finalised? is it possible to jump on board?
Also wondering about some of the same things Borep has mentioned, & specifically how the rear boot lock will work/will you just need to open it with the lever in the front of the car?
Also, the outside looks hot.. but what about the inside of the bootlid? is it just going to look like fibreglass matting typical of the inside of bodykits etc?
And... finally... it would obviously mean a lot less rattling when i get my subs put in right?

dont think this is alive any more, at least it's on life support and just forgotten about lol
and i dont think it will help much with the rattling (although u will cut out some rattling just by not having the wing, and CF over fibreglass will have a different tone to the metal ones - lower i assume), but u can always just stick some cut up its of cork wood in the gaps between the supports and then dynomat over it lol
AND SAM!!!
so... what's happening

Okay... This was sorta put on hold due to some allegations that topstage is a bit dodgy.
Doing research into other Carbon Fibre builders possibly in QLD.
but at this stage its on hold till then...
Most of your rattles come from the locking mechanism.. So that will still be there...
I dont know about the lock...
Im hoping it is shaved off (as i think it looks so much sexier) but will ultimately be up to the manufacturer.

lol, yeah it's probably beyond me right now anyway (have to actually make a mold for something like that, and i'm much too lazy to mess aroudn with that right now)
...though it is on the todo list (along with all my interior panels and body kit lol)
so the moral of the story is:
stop being lazy and do all the leg work for us sam. lol
