Dyno test for GP VR 1997

Post by aza013 »

Hi all I just put my FTO GP vr up on the dyno and this is how it turned out :D
I had as you can see 5 runs, with each run I changed the Mivec controler and the best result was with no controler
so if any one looking at geting a controler unless you have all the top end gagets ie adustable cams and all that other good stuff its not werth the power it draws or the money to bye it and fit it.

so from a stock gp vr no mods at all max 143.3 HP at the weels I love it

as for air intake and all the rest will look at later and will have it done by dynotuning at morbank, and they can do the fine tuning at the same time.

Mivec, same engine as yours. Only difference is I changed the stock intake.

I need a better qaulity air filter though.

Also, mines a tiptron. I think 10-20% less power then manual

they should have some down there or they can tell you the best sort to get would be good to see how much of a change in power it makes with the air flow setup, and the tip vs manual

If you want to try, you could always borrow my intake. Won't take too much time.

$250 8O

The only reason you'd need to spend that much time on a dyno is if they were tuning an aftermarket ECU. The stock ECU cant be tuned any more than it is.

Last run up I had was at UAS - $80 for 2 runs.
