personally I wouldnt bother
Neither would I, but there is obviously some interest out there based on the number of times this question is asked.

Just did a bit of a google and there appear to be manufacturers and/or bonnets that have ADR approval. The bonnet will have a sticker on it if it is approved. They certainly seem to be in the minority though - and this does not say that there is one available for the FTO.

Looks as though if you are buying one of these and want to be legal, you will really have to do your research.

    Hrmm...
My FTO is a 95... does that mean theres hope??
I have had countless defects on mine (in QLD you also loose a point each time). My mechanic passes it for rego regardless.
I told just cars about it and they were cool.
I will be talking to my engineer when he does my new engines mod plating about what i could do to make it legal. (Contemplating fitting the original bracing to the CF... (though that would increase the weight.)

ERm... Maybe. From my searching this morning, most of the compliant references alluded to QLD, so you should have more hope than most

Correct me if i'm wrong, But I thought it was also the Vents that made it illegal.. cause if flames/smoke were to come out of your bonnet they will go straight into your vision.

pretty sure the think that kills the cool vents and scoops is pedestrian safty rather than smoke/fire... now i think about it... maybe it's both

There's potential for a thread about anything on FTO Australia

I heard its a safety thing. The bonnets dont bend when in an accident, come off the hinges and slice your head off.
