super stiff .. adjust to softest on the rear and just 2/36 in the front and still bum flying of seat when there's a little hill/bump

can't remember how much i got it for, around $1300 ... local mechanic put it in for me, pretty sure this topic has been around a couple times as well

Did you get the street or the street/track version and did you specify your spring rates as well ?

In one of the Aussie Toyota clubs, a lot of rolla sportivo owners run D2 coilovers, street version with...i think 5kg rear and 3kg front or maybe it was 7kg rear and 5kg front. They reckon it's great for street, really comfy but handles quite nice too ?

Please don't hurt me, i swear i'm not a spy from a toyota club...

They are available on ebay too for around $1035 plus about 300 shipping. dunno if you can order specific spring rates thou...

Just need to keep in mind, stock FTO spring rates are 2.6kg on the front & 1.6kg on the rear... most of these D2's off the shelf come with 9kg fronts & 7kg rear - which in my opinion is FAR to hard for street driving. You'll end up with stretch mark on your boobs like I do.

Like Bennoz suggest, i didn't get to choose the spring rate ... in my opinion it actually make the handling worst cause you'll bounce off the road if you drive through a bump

Anyways! Lol, checked my info a bit more and the sportivo owners seem to go for 5kg and 7kg street version...they say it's about the same ride quality as their stock shockies and king lows/superlows. Also had a look at a D2 auction on ebay and yeah in the item description they say you can choose spring rates from 3.5kg to 22kg.

I recently got coilovers put in my car (not d2s though) and the first turn i did, a major grin spread across my face lol. Initially it was quite bumpy though, but after 2 weeks i got used to it and my brain just doesn't register the bumps anymore. I.e. unless they are medium and larger ones.

I guess a good compromise for someone after ride quality too would be the street version of D2 coilovers with maybe 5.5kg front and 3.5kg rear ?

very stiff ?oh..no .. i just wanna spend about $1500 for my suspension , but dont know which one is the best for street driving ... dont have enough money go for TEIN or KONI..

If you don't want super stiff, Try the spring rate i mentioned in my above post along with the street model of the D2's or alternatively...$1500, why not get Koni shocks and king springs combo ? Get that done at a cheapish place and you'll have money to replace the bushes on your swaybars too. That will give quite a comfy ride (depending on the springs and spring rate you go for of course...) and handle a much better than stock (which is most probably all worn out by now).

Heck, if you can find the parts cheap and get cheap labour, $1500 will even allow for a new front swaybar and strut bar. Or you could look at the condition of your droplinks etc.

Btw, isn't your car for sale ? Usually mods mean sunk money, as you'll rarely recover the costs in a sale.

ok ..i c .. my friend got a KONI adjustable suspension and white line sway bars done in MRT , cost him around $2500,and he said its not very stiff but handing nice .. i want to get the same one from MRT , but 2500 is too much for me at moment ..
yeh , i am selling my car now ,,but i would keep it if i cant get the price i want ... so i am just planning some mods on my car in the future...
