FTO Vs N14 Pulsar

Post by Dr_Jones »

Had a little go at the lights tonight with a pulsar sedan ie not a SSS and I was only about a metre in front to 80km/h. What's up with that surely this cant be normal. I was quite annoyed actually haha.

maybe you're not launching right? ...or maybe he's got some killer sleeper mods done to it?

I didn't do any sort of launch in my tip as I was expecpting the race to happen in the first place. I thought even with just a normal start I would of beaten him easily. I know he had an exhaust, I guess he could of had more.

I had a run in with an R33 GTST last week and it was a lot closer than I expected. I didn't do any special launch, had someone else in the car (only the driver in the R33) and was about a metre or 2 behind at 90kmh. Those things considered and the fact that my car is a stock tip GPX I thought I was bound to get raped by the R33. Now back on topic, did the pulsar driver get off to any sort of launch? Even if it did, I'm shocked that a pulsar sedan would get that close. A SSS I can understand, but a sedan. 8O

i've had a close run with an R33 before... in the wet, they are absolutely hopeless because they wheelspin like a bitch (depending on the driver and setup) but if you launch well (and lucky enough to come across a dumbass who does not know what he/she is doing with an R33 turbo) i wouldn't be surprised beating them, but in the top end they'll kill you though'...

the N14 Pulsar SSS are pretty zippy considering their power/weight ratio, unless they have have some killer mods done to it... (more and more N14 Pulsars are getting SR20DETs from the GTiR transplanted into them) but all the other 1.8s are easily beaten like rice'd up Lancers/Civics or what have you...

i think the n14 sedan u talk about isn't a SSS but has the same engine in it.. something like 105kw but a lot less weight than the fto..
also, the SR20DE is an engine that responds well to exhaust/air mods.....
the DET now that thing responds well to anything :p

so you reckon in the wet a R33 RWD with LSD will have less grip then a FWD FTO?

dont think so.

payaya, if you re-read Mikey's message you'll see he refers twice to the driver not knowing how to handle the turbo in the wet.

He's not talking about in the dry, nor about an experienced driver who knows how to launch in the wet.

hehehhe sorry dude, im going stupid from no sleep!

yeah guess you can beat a lot of car, if you get some dumbass in a RWD car, unless maybe 4WD then you'll have problems :)

There's a lot of idiots out there who don't know how to handle a powerful car in the wet, especially turbos. Unfortunately, you see them wrapped around powerpoles too often.

Ruchi i agree with u, but i think the sentence should stop at "There's a lot of idiots out there" Cause it does matter wet or dry, powerfull car or not theres still plenty of them wrap around the tree!!!!

Actually even though I wouldn't beat the chick in my avatar on a push bike at the moment I too have beaten a WRX and it was a real rex.. so I think it is possible for a lot of you guys to do it also... 8)

I realise the guy in the rex probably did not know how to drive a car but hey I have NFI how to drive a car myself just ask Steve.. he is one of the few that have seen me drive and survived.... 8O

Well i've took on few WRX before, i must say cause they are so cocky, & relied on the AWD instead of having any driving skill. So it isn't hard 2 take them on if u r prepare.

I took on my friend who had a WRX, he kill me on straight (but not much when its on short distance) but he lost on bend/curve cause he just like most WRX driver, he doesn't how to drive properly by making the full use of the apex (hehehe i think Rob really know how 2 make the full use of any path ahahahaha)

Before that he keep telling me he can rip me on straight & bend cause his got a AWD. The worst thing is i beat him with my Beetle & FTO, which both are FWD :D

Anyone can drive fast on straight, but how many can actually drive???
