Idea: Black Headlights.... hrmmm

Post by FtoSam »

Okay... I've always been wanting to modify my headlights somehow...
First HIDs now Angel Eyes....
Now you all know how a lot of people open up their headlights and chrome the plastic surround? well that would look *~dreamy~* on my car...
So considering my tail lights are black, what about Spraying it a gloss shiny black..
Im gonna have the lights opened up for the angel eyes anyway... anyone reckon it'd look good or *~dreamy~*?

Yep... involves a bit of cooking...
I think it will look better... The standard dark grey vs a very shiny gloss black..

I have black tail lights. And black indicators etc... And at night the car looks black its so dark... hardly anyone knows its blue unless they see it in direct sunlight

IMO, you wouldn't notice that much of a difference between the standard grey/black and a gloss black. At least it would match your bonnet though.

If you want to paint them a darker colour, why not paint them the same colour as your car? I reckon that'd work...

    My 2c worth :D

Yeah i was weighing that up too...
But having dark accents on the car (Tail lights, Indicators, Bonnet, etc) I was thinkin black would provide a subtle contrast...

theres my point, they are black to begin with right? whats the point? except for conversation value...

but if your gonna open them up anyway, id paint them as close to the same colour as your car.

Yeah they're a little faded thanks to 12 years of sun. And more a dark grey...
I was thinking a shiny black..It will only be a bit different...Like changing Matt Black to Gloss...

painted mine white. it doesnt take long to dry... especially since i baked them in the oven to dry them lol

but i accidentally used gloss white one one and application white on the other :? (had about 20 cans of paint... no diff in colour only thing is the texture if u look closely)

and sam... what about tinting your headlights? obviously not as dark as u did on the tail lights, but it'll suit your car pretty well i think... for the whole "stealth" look lol

    Lol... Stealth.... Fun Times

Yeah... Thought about tinting some eyelids onto em... but it looked so sh*t...
I drive at night a lot and tinting the headlights would no doubt impair my headlights... Not happening..

If i was better with fibreglass, i'd be making custom ones... but i dont have the time to teach myself these days...
