you want simple & cheap? remove weight

ditch the back seats, passenger seat, carpets, roof liner
audio gear, and anything else that isn't essential

cost = $0

This may give you about 7kw more power aprox a good exhaust should cost around $1000-$1800, thats a full set up.
just depends on where you go and what you want.
If you are in syd try liverpool exhausts at Morbank they know there stuff.

Change the intake and then divert cold air from the front grill to the pod. Simple mod instant gain and it wouldn't cost you much.

On the run performance in melbourne sells the intake for about $150 bucks. It'll cost you all up about 300-350 with a new apexi pod
