Is there any major reason why the water pump is changed during the 100k service, the only thing I can think of is so you don't have to replace it between 100k services because I know that the FTO is a pain in the back side to change timing belts and also that coolant can reduce the life of the timing belt.
I have pretty much done a 100k service on my car even thou it only done 58,000km but its 94 model, the only things I haven't done it the cams seals and water pump, only because they weren't leaking.

Its good to do the cam seals because the oil weakens the timing belt, I have a daewoo come in at work a while ago with a snapped timing belt, it snapped because the timing belt was soaked in oil because of the cam seal was leaking, so there was bent valves, holes in pistons and head damage.
So it became a expensive repair, so it ended up in the wreckers I think, I think the repair was more than the car so he never got it fixed.
