4WD as straight line king?
I don't know if anyone read the latest Motor, but according to their recent PCOTY test.
The top 2 straight liner, are 4WD
Jeep SRT-8 clock 0-100 5.1sec and 13.5sec for 1/4 miles
Mercedes ML63 0-100 5.3sec and also 13.5sec for 1/4 miles
Cars they beat so far are
BMW Z4M
Audi RS4 Cab
Porsche Boxter S
BMW 335i
Audi TT
Now those car aren't your average rice bubble either, so is 4WD going to take over every sector in the future? I hope not.

But look at the suspension, it would stiff as, so 300kmph on a straight should be like riding in a normal carFtoSam wrote:And i feel sketchy doing 250 in my fto... let alone 300 in a landcruiser...

Ive done 190km/h in a stock Landcruiser down an Airport Taxiway (Dont ask, long story) and a good thing it was a straight line too... Wouldnt have wanted to go any faster for sure.

did u read the reviews?payaya wrote:but there is a lot of weight and not that much power.khunjeng wrote:I read the reviews....was ok. But as expected they drive like boats.
if you have 4wd and a big enough engine with lots of torque and the correct gearing...0-100 it should be fine...
They had like 400kw...kw per kg was much better than most cars. Toeque was through the roof. Hence they got excellent 0-100 times and beat all the sports cars. Boxter S, Z4 etc.
Round the track they were not as slow as expected.

I test drove the ML63 this week and i ate a MY07 STi with it. So yes they are heavy but they also have high output engine with great drive train that can transfer heaps of power onto the straight and twisty.
