Lambo Door Kits

Post by FtoSam »

Okay i know this has been covered a couple of times, but looking at this site in the UK it looks like they've recently released a new version of the FTO lambo Door kit. I really really want this done. But i dont know about $2000 plus freight plus fitting. thatd prob come up to around $3500 or something. If i could get one done for $2000 i'd be happy, although i'd be worried about the quality of it. What do you guys think?

I'm thinking of getting suicide doors near the end of the year...

As for scissor doors, I thought you could get kits for much less then that? Maybe they weren't as good... or perhaps the guy at the car show I was talking to was mumbling out his arse. Edit: ah I should RTFA before commenting ;) they're probably better then some of the other kits floating about. However anyone will say that of their product... probably somone on ftooc that has em already...

I just love them for small car parks... no accidently hitting something or having to squeeze out of the car!

That doesn't stop other retards dooring you though :(

I love the Lambo conversions. Would like to do this to mine. 2 door cars in shopping centres . With Lambo conversion = :D
This kit is a direct bolt-on conversion for the FTO, and can be reversed later if required.
Taken from their website.
I guess you would have to extend the wiring and protect it somehow, but direct bolt on sounds good. I remember looking up a kit in Japan, but it required some modification to the body to fit.
Couldn't find a price though...

plenty of bolt on kits, but u get what u pay for basically.

dont know how well suicide doors will work out if anyone wants to get into the back seats, or out. lol

just got email back from them...
20 hours to fit and 200gbp to post one to aus...

so total price is around 1000P ( or like $2550)
Then labour as well... if 20 hours at say $60(cheap) per hour. $1200.
So we're looking at $4000.
I spose if its the best out there than it may be worth it... but as much as i want lambo doors i could spend $4000 on other stuff.
Although last time i spoke to I8AFRE he said he'd found a local guy that could do it for around $1500-1800 installed....
Going to have to give him another phone call.

Thats around the ballpark I'd heard about $ wise.

You'd want to see them fitted on another FTO before going for it though.

I'm pondering it... I hate meeting new people though - such the wall flower... might have to con a friend to come for the cruise with me ;) I've just been sorting out those "you just bought a new car, here's a list of things you didn't know about before you bought the car!" type problems >< Being a motorbike rider and not the most mechanically minded... it's been fun :D

I'm fine with having the seats there at the moment... eventually when I have the money I would like to remove them and have a spare tyre :P and I'm still pondering hydraulic suspension... I'd need that room for the hydraulics :P as there is no room in the boot.

It's all pipe dreaming atm as no big contracts have cruised thru yet... hopefully by mid year :)

Trust me mate. Everyone on the cruise is very friendly.

Oodles: I might make up a list and chuck it in the general section.

I saw a Lancer with suicide doors on it in town yesterday. If I see him again I'll ask about prices etc. I'd love to do this mod to my beast wow it'd turn some heads!!

what are suicide doors?

and i heard somebody say on the forum long ago it can be done for $2000 but very likely something will go wrong with the cheap conversion after abt 3 years and will need to spend money on it again

suicide doors are the ones that open backwards... so the door swings backwards not towards the front of the car...

like the back doors of the rx8

Suicide doors are awesome. It would make it EASIER to get in & out because you could support yourself on the door.
