u should know better than to order stuff from chinese companies when you dont have an office / contacts there to complain for you

seriously, the best thing you can do when ordering from china is to prove to them that u have an office/contact close to them, thanks they wont try tp f**k you cos they r scared of u "wasting" their time lol

on that note, OI MAX and PPL THINKING ABOUT DOING WHAT MAX IS DOING, i'm willing to do some "threatening" for you when u order from chinese companies etc.. just ask me, i'm apparent;y gppd at at it lol

anyways, before i get carried away (i have tons to sya about chinese manufacturers lol) i will hopefully have the samples by toomorrow (weds) or worst case senario, by the weeked

The best approach is to buy into a factory...

Can't actually own one completely though IIRC due to overseas ownership laws that china has.

You're right though, staff over there is the way to go... but before you can afford/have that there's a lot of fun importing things to learn

I feel sorry for guys who cannot afford to do so or don't have decent contacts.

Can be lots of stress associated with it... especially if you're spending 100k+ on a 40 foot container ... you'd be upset if something was amiss!

it's still alive, purely because the girls in the office in china sat on these samples for like... a month, lol

just copy this list and add urself to the bottom if u r up for it (it's about $50 to $60 for a set of 2x80mm + 2x95mm, any colour... within reason lol)

true on the stress associated with something going amisss when u spend $100k, but then again it's the same wherever u buy from lol. and as for ppl that cant afford to do it or dont have contacts, they can order through "middle man" agents/companies, such as the one i'm working at. Or if you cant afford that, or in most cases: if you are a tight ass then you can alway just find a chinese speaking friend and end up spending more $$ on phone calls than u would on a middle man (we dont call each other, i've never spoken to any of the staff in china on the phone, once on skype and that's it, rest is msn lol), and get the mate to pretend that he's in china and threaten them that way

nope not yet, just managed to fix my computer (it died in a power out last night), managed to figure out how to stick the CCFL rings in, they r sorta the right size (they r as close as anyone's going to get to the "right size", cos i think the right size for the fto lights would be slightly oval if u want to be anal about it)

just a word of advice ppl, dont try to force it in, i showered myself with bits of broken glass when one snapped.

there r 3 ways of attatching them, 1 is to drill 3 to 4 holes at the right place then use plastic bog to hold them, 2 is to drill 3 to 4 holes close enough to where the rings r going to sit and use fishing line to hold them down then use a bit of plastic bog on the otherside of the light casing (the side that no one can see when it's back together) to hold the fishing line a bit tighter, or 3 use some sort of double sided tape or clear adhesive to stick them on (but my problem with that is it's hard to find stuff that will take the 150C baking temp to put the light back together)

i'll make it more clear in the DIY

glamorous, wait wait wait lol i will do it asap (original plan was to do it on the weekend, but i figured as soon as u guys hear that i've got them, u'd be nagging for pics lol)

TCGPX, um... pretty sure i got the 6mm ones... maybe they are 5mm, i'll double check as soon as i find a ruler somewhere lol

and i was hoping for the clips too but i donno what happened there (i didnt ask for clips cos i thought it would just ocme with it lol)

i'll ask them to send clips for the order though

and the lights dont look exactly like the ones in the pic either, u'll see when i put pics up (no biggy though, there's no straight bit on the lights and it makes almost a full circle, actually makes it a bit easier to work with i think)
