DIY Wanted: How to install a clutch?

Okay, does anyone know where i could find a DIY on how to replace the clutch in my FTO?

I have a new one to go in and would love to be able to save some $$ and do it myself (with help of the old man of course).

Is it even something i can do myself? or am i best paying a mechanic to do it...

Since the turbo, my clutch has been slipping every now and then, even though i havent got above 1psi (thanks to a nice leak)...
On wednesday they're fixing the leak and re-tuning the car... then i spose the clutch will be even worse...

Anyone know where i can find a guide?? or should i try and create one myself when i have a go.??

Download the FTO workshop manuals if I remember correctly it's in there.

Here's a decent guide, no pics though. So perhaps take some pics for us??

//edit: that article mentions that the workshop manual is wrong? Not sure why but I don't have access to it while I'm at work.

Righto... Well im pretty sure my old man can do it... im going home for a visit this weekend... so i'll see if he's working or not. would be good to get it done while im down there...

what price would a mechanic usually charge?

is it something me and some of my mates can do? (incase the old guy is at work all weekend)

Be prepared to spend a lot of time on your back! Have plenty of jacks & stands handy too.... c*nt of a job to do on a front lawn.

I'd say less than $500 and i'll give in...

Changing the clutch is not all that hard actually.
Easily doable in my opinion, as long as you have the right tools,
Otherwise might need to think twice, you will pay more to tools then mech quote
