Hey guys,

Just signed up through Dawes motor underwriting group who deal
specifically with imports and welcome any modifications done to your FTO.
Their only pre-requisits is that your over 25 and that you havn't had a car stolen in 10 years

Agreed value... and if you do any mods just tell em, it wont increase your payments unless it greatly increases the value of the car.

I got a quote on a FTO that I was looking at for 10k ...

$938 through Young and Cool ... And that is with an accident (my fault on my bike - 5.5k damage) in 2005 ...

But you have to have it garaged, and that was not with it being driven every day ... I said that I would only drive to work about every second day... But I have security parking at work ...

you should try to get Insurance for GPVR with agreed value of $20'000 I pay $268 a month and thats over 30 garaged no prangs or lost points and no claims in the last ten years.
Highest value any one will do for me is $18,000

Pays to shop around - Used to insure through Famous - $1400/year and if Car was stolen while not garaged - then $3000 excess - (ouch)

went to Dawes - lower excess ($500) and only 1K insurance per year

The other FTO is even less (as its only driven on Weekends) - so if you're not using it as a Daily Driver - make sure you tell them and save some money.

Worst quote was NRMA for 4.5K - Shannons wanted 1700!!!!

YIKES Aza - who you with??? (I'm over 30 as well and have lost demerits in the last 5 years)

Aza I agree with Tanya - you should be shopping around straight away for a better deal! My gf (<25) got a quote half that price for the same agreed value.

still ringing around trying to get best deal and low excess
and I want the car valued at $20,000 and yes its driven every day.

Young and Cool & Just cars... Just cars might be good for ya, as you have had no accidents ... It was going to cost me almost 2k through them but that is based on my history ...

Both our cars are modified - mine, not too much - the race car - is modified a lot, Dawes were informed of all the modifications.

Dawes will cover "Veteran, Vintage, Classic, Prestige, High Performance, Modified and Exotic Vehicles" (copied from their website - www.dawes.com.au)

For the price you're paying - I'd even give Shannons a go, they are very good - but not as cheap - but may be cheaper than what you're paying now as they do cover Agreed Value.

Hey just received quote for modified 95 gpx agreed value for over 30, garaged, driven everyday, no claims in the last 5 years, $708.00 per year through Shannons. Big difference depending on where you live hey!!

Just another great reason for living up here in the tropics hey! Fuel is cheaper, Insurance is cheaper, beach is 5min from home, have to travel right across town to go to work and it takes me 15-20 mins tops. Gotta love it!!

ok just got off the phone from Dawes with a price full insurance with a agreed valu of $20,000
to insure for a year $1042.40 now that is great

as soon as I get the rego done on the car next month grrrrr $800 I will change over to them

I did an internet quote ... $1238.38 for me ... With $1,000 excess...

So yeah, looks like it will be Young & Cool for me ... Just gotta get the FTO now ...
