Engine???

OK can anyone tell me why my engine has those white rings of stuff on the sides??? Any help is much appreciated as its been bugging me for awhile as to why it looks like that

Looks like a sealant of some sort. El-cheapo way of stopping leaks?

Yup, probably pretroleum grade sikaflex or similar. Thats plugging holes in your cams seals...dodgy.

maybe I should get my cam seals done? is there anything else i should get done while I'm at it? tappets maybe?

Thats funny, lucky your rocker cover wasn't leak or that might of had the same treatment, I have seen that a couple of times a work.
