Yeah... hats off to the mechanic in that one... nice accurate quote mate.

mechanic:" oh yeah two days should be plenty... so about $1400 max i'd say but might only be around $700"

5 weeks later

mechanic: " uhhh yeah.... that comes to $2768 thanks)

me: "oh"

Due to a few unexpected factors (Work Conference, Moving House and suprise bills) Dyno tune has been delayed again. Looking at going in on tuesday or so.

Okay, Now in the 2nd attempt at getting this prick tuned.
1st time they had the wrong ECU or something. had to get sent back to microtec. took 9 days to get back. I took in last tuesday. It took 2 days for the tuner to realise that the ECU had the wrong Harness for the coil packs. So had the proper one overnighted up here.
Just called and they are wiring it up right now and hoping to have it running by this arvo... which they bloody better... got this cruise on sunday.

A few quick whinges to get out of my system. I know i should've expected them but i want to anyway.

Mechanic:
Way out with the original Quote. ended up being double. Said 2 days. took a month. Other than that a nice guy.

Tuner:
Asked to have microtec by 18th December. Didnt arrive till end of Jan.
Then the wrong one turned up. took almost 2 weeks for a new one to arrive. Then they say 2 days. one for install one for dyno. took 2 days to figure out they had the wrong wiring harness. and needed another 2 days to finish. and even then i dont know if it'll be finished.

Arghh bloody incompetent.. etc etc etc..

Okay im done...
Cant wait to get it back... hoping for this arvo. otherwise i'll be putting on my cranky pants.

Will update again tonight when i get home... If i dont post till late that means im cruisin round enjoying 7,500rpm boost.

Well why the Hell isnt your name down for the cruise on sunday?
I'll even take you for a spin! lol

Just heard back from the tuners again.
Everything is on, even the new injectors.
Car is fully wired up and running. (heard it in the backgroud)
Trying to get it tuned by this arvo. Worst case, they'll finish it tomorow.
Hoping for this arvo though. got much sh*t i'd like to do tomorrow.

I asked for a very "light" tune. one that has nice big buffers as far as fuel, detonation, etc. I asked for reliablitly primarily. So im not expecting over 215hp atw (160Kw). But at least it'll be reliable.

Getting another tune when fuel pump, exhaust, water injection, decompressed gaskets, etc go on.

Fuel system should be set then. with 390cc injectors, braided lines, FPR and a 4-500hp fuel pump. My step dad wants to make me a surge tank etc... i really dont think i need one though.

Cant wait to get it back and really open up on the way back home.
muahhahaha...

i can see me posting up later on something like... i have some good news and bad news...
good news:
my car does 180km/h so quickly....
bad news:
even the policemans laser said so.

2nd of July I get my licence back. I only let my rego slip because I was unlicenced and wasn't planning on driving it anymore. You're about 25 minute drive away from me, infact, went through there to get to work this morning..

I look once every couple of months but am always busy when there's somehting on (except this weekend lol)
