EOI - Autosalon DIY Day

Post by Nacho »

I know this wasn't the most popular topic at the autosalon meeting but I thought I'd bring this forward anyway to any member who is interested in joining us for autosalon but doesn't think they're car is up to scratch.

I do strictly emphasise that entering the autosalon as part of a club doesn't require you to have a body kit, flash interior or a fully sik engine. In this case, it really will be strength in numbers and the more members we have, the better stand we will have.

So for anyone who may be interested in entering, I have an EOI for a BBQ and DIY day at my house to do things like:

Create new wheel guards
Restore exterior rubber/plastic trims
Paint windscreen wipers
Restoring paint job
Painting brake calipers

Just a few small things we can all do to get our cars looking showroom quality. Khungeng has gladly donated his polishing and waxing stuff and we can just buy some metal polish for our rims. If you have some things to touch up though, you'll need to provide your own paint as I only have passion red paint. I do have a buffer and compressor so if you wanna clean out your engine as well you're welcome to.....not that we'll really need to open up the bonnets unless you want to.

If you're interested, post up a date you'd like and we'll decide whether it's worth having or not. We can actually clean at cars at the showroom prior to autosalon but these things you wouldn't really want to leave last minute.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

So they paint calipers and make wheel guards for you as well? They must be really good detailers then. And as a bonus they take off your windscreen wipers and paint them for you as well?! 8O That I've gotta see.

This thread is pointless!
Put your car in to the Autosalon the way you are comfortable with
Who cares about the wiper paint, who will look into the wheel guards...
All our cars are in street use, and around 12 years old, standard paint quality is expected

cut and polish, wash before the show, and some tyre shine.

Will be good enough.

It might be pointless to you just because you've just had a respray and a body kit. I could put my car into autosalon even with just a layer of wax. But what about the other members out there who aren't comfortable to put their car in? This thread is so they are comfortable if they don't know to do that stuff to their car.
