Hi,
I have a 96 FTO GPX and I recently had some gearbox problems. Lost 4th, 5th and R gears. Took it to a gearbox mechanic and they found that the "countershaft" was broken (countershaft apparently being what the 4, 5 and R cogs rest on)
They said that they can get a replacement countershaft from japan for $1300 and couldnt find one here. Not even a 2nd hand gearbox!!
Can anyone help me with these questions I have:
- whats the gearbox model number i have ? (mivec, manual)
- anyone know this countershaft part number?
- was the gearbox or the parts available in any australian mitsu?
- anyone know of a manual gearbox for sale, or the most likely wreckers to get a 2nd hand manual from? and $$$?
