Won't idle, down on power, need advice

Post by MuMan »

hey guys..anyone had any symtoms like these.
The car won't idle, I had to adj. the accelerator cable to get it to run.
There's no cold start enrichment, you have to hold your foot on the accelerator pedal till it warms up.
Onced it's warmed up it's ok....except for this.
if you get up it, it won't rev out, seems to lack power or it goes into limp mode, but no lights come up on the dash.
Now a while back I was coming back after a long run and it just died...pulled over, and after a couple of mins. it started and ran fine.
Also had it die when I got into it a couple of times, but when you drive it normally, it's fine.
Fuel filter is new, plugs replaced, pump seems to be ok, well it's running and everything else seems ok.

Check your ECU error codes

http://www.ftowa.com/html/workshop/workshopart07.html

You may also need to check the g/box ECU codes as well if its going into limp mode....

^^^ hey great work on the error codes!..thanks.
The battery is disconnected right now for a timing belt change, so I'll have to run it and get the symtoms back.
BTW..hope I don't have to install a push button :D
