Very cheap immobilisers at JB

Post by msbchi »

:D Any one who doesn't have an alarm/immobiliser might want to head down to their local JB Hi Fi as they have the DOMINATOR with remote start going cheap. Normally over $600, I picked one up for just $190. It also winds up your windows< and yes Kevin I still use the python but he is in hibernation at thr moment , also I don't have to feed the Dominator

How much is that gonna cost yah??? (Insurance)

And yes you do need an immobliser for insurance.. You can tell the insurance company that you have one, but if it get's flogged then bye bye car.

Yeah I think it depends on the insurance company,
one I'm with requires one for if the car is stolen.

Otherwise they charge %10 of the purchase price of car if its stolen and burnt out etc and you didn't have the correct imobiliser :)

Actually when it comes to Just Cars, Shannons etc - if you can't prove your Standards approved immobiliser was professionally installed they deny your claim. True story.

PLEASE DON'T GET REMOTE START IF YOU HAVE A MANUAL
Just consider if the car was left in gear and there's a kid in front / behind the car. :?

Last point of advice - any immobiliser is only as good as the installation. I'd get a cheap, well installed one any day over a expensive, but half-assed installed one.

That is all. Good morning! :)

$2300...hehe. That ain't too bad to be honest, considering your age and the imported sports car being insured.

$3300 for me. Can't wait till i'm over 25 for Shannons.

Might want to call again (well depending on circumstances I guess). My gf is with Shannons, full comp for the FTO, under 25. A very competitive quote. :D
