UPDATED: 16 MAY, 2004 Wakefield (MAY not April)
hey guys,
Unique Auto Sports will be holding one of their track days on the 16 May, 2004. (i know this is seriously advance warning).
I've negotiated with them to have a NA (or FTO class if we get enough cars) to go with their normal classes (all turbo cars).
Please mark this date in your diary and i'll have more information for you on requirements and costs in the coming month or so.

everyone's welcome to come and watch (you can also be a passenger if you want i think that's about $20-40)...
umm what happens we go round and round a track as fast as we can in 10-15 minute intervals.
there are rules associated with days like this to avoid paint swaping and the like.
John normally has professionals there as well to help new comers with how to drive on a track.

if i was you i would do my brakes first..
brakes and tyres are the most important upgrades IMO.
no point in going fast if you cant stop or handle corners, good brakes will allow you to brake late and increase your lap times.
after my brake upgrade (dba slotted rotors and galfer performance pads) i am confident with 4 people in the car (or from high speeds) that i can brake late and still stop where i want to even going down hill.. without fading... try that on your standard brakes repeatedly!
april should be plenty of warning for everyone to get their cars ready, im hoping i can come... and i hope i will have a spare set of tyres and brake pads ready by then, coz from what i heard if you go hard you can go through a whole set in the one day

Re: 16 April, 2004 Wakefield
Sounds interesting since I 've never been to track or racing on track.smorison wrote:Please mark this date in your diary and i'll have more information for you on requirements and costs in the coming month or so.
What are the requirements?
Can we drive own cars on track? and what is the cost?
Do we need to own racing license/suit or gear (helm, suit, boot , etc...)?????
Any updates?
