I have a Silver FTO GPX with 17'' aswell
Hi There,
I Just bought a Silver FTO GPX with 17 inch semi chromes about a month ago!
Last week the FTO had an oil leak issue so i took it to Specialist Care Centre in Hobart. They didnt seem to mind working on it. They had a bit of trouble getting parts in Tasmania so i had to wait a few days.
Where did you get your FTO from?

Hi,
Welcome aboard!
I get all my work done at Autocraft in Collins Street. (speak to Brad)
They are unbelievably fastidious with the work they do and already have experience with most common FTO faults. (due to working on my car over the last few years)
Cost is around the $70 an hour mark but you get what you pay for with these things.
I have also supplied them with a copy of the workshop manual and Mitsu parts database so finding parts has not been a problem.
Cheers
Chris

Have a chat to Brad about your suspension...........they sorted mine about 12 months ago. (poly bushes, camber kit, castor kit, king springs, Koni's etc etc)
It was easier to get nw droplinks myself from Camskill in the UK (http://www.camskill.co.uk)
I am, wouldn't have it any other way............Are you guys driving manual fto's?

Good Luck!Turns out my car has some problems i brought it cheap kinda expected that hey.
Never goto DJ's They quoted me $1997 to fix (doing stuff that doesn't need doing sounds like DJ's)
Anyway booked into Autocraft they are going over car.
Going through them from now on
I had my car regulary servicd by an FTO "specialist" when living in Queensland. I got them to do my 100,000k service early as I wasn't sure if there would be anyone locally that would be any good with an FTO.
Autocraft found a number of niggling problems (oil leaks, top end problems etc etc) when I first arrived back in Tassie, took a bit of time and about $2k to get right.
Now everything is mechanically perfect and I haven'y looked back since.

Cheers

I Purchased my FTO in Canberra about 6 weeks ago. The day after I picked it up, my partner and I started driving it down to Melbourne to catch the boat back. Got about 250k's out of Canberra and smoke started coming out of the engine. We had it towed to the closest mechanic who said I had done 2 head gaskets and internal engine damage (thought i had bought a lemon) we decided to get it towed to a mitsubishi Dealer in the middle of nowhere (Tumut, NSW) who said the water pump in the engine died. $1700 and 4 weeks later we bought it back to Tassie.. The next day it had an oil leak and $700 and 1 week later it is back to me now.
I wish the FTO's weren't so expenisve to fix!

I didnt' have a lot of choice...it was in the middle of no where. I think the labour was the expensive part. Fingers crossed it doesnt break down again, i think i have already had a quarter life crisis from the car already

Has anyone here named their car or is it just a girl thing?

Hey just got my Timeing chain done and VRS set And Cam seals etc
Got it done for $1020 Good price i think Only now my engine is making a really bad ticking noise (like my old subaru) and service guys reckon i need new hydralic lifters (the engine was really quite before the service). Do you think they have stuffed it up? Will it be expensive?
