I wanted a black 1997+ 5spd man low km's (i.e. under 70'000) and it took forever to find.. the ones i did either had problems and i was advised against it and the one i did bid on was a 1997 gpx 32'000km i lost the auction by approx $23 AUD. haha oh well..

i ended up changing and going for the silver code A26 which turned out really nice even though i was set on black. In the end im really happy. Keep an open mind to colour otherwise be paitent. importing needs to be done with care :)

good luck

i'm in no rush. It wouldnt be a bad thing if i didnt find one till early next year actually (savings).

I'm pretty much dead set on GPvr. Actually, GPX with LSD might be better, because i have plans to replace the suspension and put climate control in anyway. I'll have a think.

From what i read, the GPX's have a nicer intrerior in general than the GPvR's? Is that true/false?

Wouldn't the bodykit be destroyed and be replaced with a factory one when it got over here?

The bodykit should pass, as its not outrageous like some, but the bonnet would have to go for sure, along with those ugly monster tacho, and the NOS of course.

nobody's managed to come up with a figure of how much it cost, landed and drive-away, to import an fto.

Just rough estimates...etc. Not even something like "$15k, +-$2/3k".

So, anyone? got anything more "Solid?"
Tell me what you got, how much it went for at auction, and how much it was drive-away.

When I imported mine it was around $18,500 that was ready to be regestered, so then add regestration and insurance on top of that.

So roughly $19,000, but that depends what FTO you get mine was a clean 94 model GPX, a clean later model will probably cost around $20,000, but you could pick one up around $15,000 but body work may not be very straight and paint might be faded, and interior my have parts broken or missing.

that was a year ago, and you were the first (among) to be complied by the "new" scheme. in other words, i think if you pay anywhere near $18k for what you got, today, it'd be considered a RIP off.

The only thing that I got ripped off was the complience, I guess it was like that coz there was only one complience centre at the time that could do complience on FTO's, there are a lot more places that can do it now, just have to shop around for a good deal.
