At this time of the year, yup!
Our whole driveway is flooded at the moment...
It's mostly been since the new house was built, the large 30 tonne excavators flattened the land..

The whole city has closed down, no uni classes, we're currently trapped down here in Mosgiel. The motorway is closed, and so is three-mile-hill road.

so these are albums from yamagatamura and matsumoto nagano.
i own a cabin over there. my first snow experience was riding my motorbike home after kyudo one night. it was wet and rainy, heavy rain. about halfway home on the bike i noticed the rain was now going up!!!
riding up my mountian, i ended up having snow all the way up to the pegs!
scary stuff.
hands were frozen solid. hard hard lesson to learn.

if you want to go to japan, and need a place to stay cheap, check out my cabin. in winter it gets 50-80 cm snowfalls and is not too far from hakuba
asahi prime ski fields are on the same mountain, but you have to drive around it to get there!!

i love snow!!

of course i'll give you guys discounts.. depending on how long you want to stay, some quite substantial discounts !!
i look out for mates!
plus its good for the cabin to be occupied.

i can provide maps, links to car rental (because you need a car to get up to the cabin.. no public transport)

asahi beer is not made in asahi village unfortunately, quoting wikipedia... "Asahi brewery
was founded in Osaka in 1889.[2] During the First World War German prisoners worked in the brewery."

I'd love to but I'd need a decent number of people to come :p
The club here in NZ is very small, and not very active :(
