GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
Wanting to upgrade the GR's brakes. Looking mostly for front two but can do a set also.
Was looking towards a new set of GPX/GPvR ones but if there's a bigger set like the wilwood upgrade kit or something going cheap then let me know
Need both discs and calipers. (Master is the same correct?)

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
Go GTO brakes..
And you can buy a bracket on-line to fit. You just need bigger disc. I have GTO brakes in my garage, and the adapter..
Will eventually put on the Evo

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
the factory twin pots will be the cheapest option.
I have a decent set of front rotors, used, but the meat on them is good, also pads to suit with a tonne of meat.
Don't have the calipers however.
Rear rotors/ calipers are same across the board, so moot endeavor doing those, unless you're going bigger, but then moot again.

I didn't know the rears were the exact same... but I'd like to replace them anyway, even if it is just with the same set.
@Dan how much are you looking for them?
@Matt I'll wait till Shane-o comes through

Can I choose a beer other than coopers with that?Bennoz wrote:Daniel2019 wrote:What will $800 get meBennoz wrote:Got $800 spare?
Hmmm... may put off on this for a little while and get those then. Wouldnt the GPX upgrade cost me about 500 anyway for discs and calipers?
Also, is that a direct upgrade and would I need to upgrade anything else?

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
Just put a Caliper Rebuild Kit through the rears, easy enough to DIY and much cheaper than complete 2nd hand units that you'd have to do the same to anyway.Daniel2019 wrote:I didn't know the rears were the exact same... but I'd like to replace them anyway, even if it is just with the same set.
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
Lawso will be keeping his brembos to go on his next FTO. Along with the muffler from his first one, although he now has rims to fit over the brembossilverGPX wrote:I think the GPX brakes are more than enough lol.Daniel2019 wrote:Can I choose a beer other than coopers with that?Bennoz wrote:Daniel2019 wrote:What will $800 get meBennoz wrote:Got $800 spare?

Just wait around till someone has a set of GPX brakes mate, they will set you back screw all compared to unnecessary brembos.
If your dead set on brembos rinii has a set of evo 6 brembos for 650

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
If you like the look of the rotors and pads then you can have them, they're sitting in my garage taking up space.
I have a brand new set of factory spec rear rotors, for those I would want money. As Fraz said, put a rebuild kit through the caliper.
If your rear rotors are rooted you can buy mine, though typically they don't often take much of a beating. (Unless you're Lawso.)
EDIT: the fronts have surface rust from being used, and sitting around. wire brush on the hats with a bit of paint, whack them on and take them round the block, they'd look brand new.

EBC pads. Bigger brakes adds more weight but better if choose to add big power to the car.

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
Will take the fronts in that case. How much are you looking for for the rears? It would be nice to replace the whole set just to have peace of mind and not have to worry about it.Astron_Boy wrote:If you like the look of the rotors and pads then you can have them, they're sitting in my garage taking up space.

Can pickup at your convenience.
Now I just need a set of front GPX calipers

Re: GPX/GPvR or bigger brakes
I'd be looking for $200 for the rears, they cost me $240.
Brand new in box, unopened.
It's possible I'd have some brand new rear pads too, also unopened, I could throw those in to sweeten the deal... (would have to check on that, I could have swapped those on ours.

All good.
Waiting to hear back from his Lawsoness.
