How to install Aftermarket Steering Wheel...

So i bought new wheel... Is it relatively straight forward to change over from stock?

Can be fiddly. Ensure the car is parked with the wheels straight ahead before pulling the old wheel. There's one phillips head screw under the back of the stock wheel, undo this, then gently pop the horn cap off its clips.

Undo the centre nut off the main steering column - but leave it on loose. Pulling the old wheel off the splines on the shaft is the hardest part. Brace yourself in your seat, put hands on the wheel at 9 & 3, then apply pulling pressure. As you apply the pressure, begin to rock from left to right, applying harder pressure on the left of the wheel then the right again & again. When it finally comes free, you'll be glad you left the centre nut on a few turns

Reassembly I couldn't really give you a blow by blow how-to as all boss kits are different. Things to look out for is the indicator canceling assembly & the horn contact plate....

once u have the nut off in the middle...

use your plams and bang around the wheel around the outside- it will come loose easily and come straight off.

Make sure its straight and before u tighten it all up...drive it a bit and check its aligned...might need small adjustments to make it perfect...

isnt there a airbag in most steering wheels that will go off around the horn pulling off part and knock you the f**k out?

It's illegal to remove my air bag steering wheel? o_0 I guess I don't mind, I have found the momo wheel to be extremely good from my short time with it. Sure is better then the Gixxer handlebars ;)

Illegal to pull an airbag wheel off unless you put an airbag wheel back on....

Also, I wouldn't fancy having to pay $700 odd bucks to have it repacked if you accidentally set it off!

haha, I wouldn't take mine off because murphies law would suggest that I'm in for it!

I don't mess with murphy.

Yeh floormats were with the car (2 years ago lol) and i get gift cards all the time at work for autobahn.... so i spend em...and they're usually in the vicinity of $300 or so... so yeh, they get a lot of my bussiness but none of my cash...
I'll do up a guide then.... i have to take wheel off anyway.. is one notch to the left...
