Clutch goes loose

Okay, this has been happening for a while now.
I'll drive along with my foot just touching the clutch pedal and then i feel it sink into the floor abit... maybe 1cm or so... But it freaks me out everytime it happens (About 1-2 times a week).. is my clutch going? My fluid levels are about 1/2 way between Full and empty.. should i top it up? or should i start saving for new clutch... Current one slips like a mofo..

Do you know when it was last changed? If it has been changed at all... What sorta kms are on the clock?

dont know when its been changed... 170 on clock... about 90 on the new engine though... does this sound like a dying clutch?
also, it usually happens when i accelerate.. not neccesarily hard but usually little bit before i need to change gears..

Could well be with those figures. Try a little driving test, cruise along at 60 km/h or thereabouts & put it in 5th. Let the speed drop 10kms or so then punch the pedal to the floor. If it rev's it tits off & doesn't go anywhere, your clutch is shot.
If that doesn't happen, be checking your hydraulics. Top the fluid up & give the system a bleed. See if you get any leaks from the slave cylinder (its the most common to go on FTO clutch systems) if not, you'll have to pull both the master cylinder & slave out & inspect them for wear. They are both items that can be reco-ed & or replaced. Always best to do both units in one hit if one of them is at fault. Hydraulic failure (master or slave) is usually indicated by a sh*tty pedal.... like having to pump the pedal just to get it into gear. The car revving its tits off & not going anywhere usually indicates the clutch or one of its associated parts is shot.

Yeh sometimes i have to pump the pedal to get it into 1st gear...but it'd go into other gears fine.. just not 1st.. and only very occasionally..

Why do you drive with your foot touching the clutch pedal, there is no need to do so, and because of the pressure of your foot on the clutch pedal, you prapobly at the very least contributed to the clutch slip and stuffed your release bearing.
Use the foot rest thats why its there.

The problem is most likely the primary cup in the clutch master cylinder, put a kit in it if the bore is OK otherwise replace it. Some brake places are able to put in a stainless steel sleeve to save the cylinder which makes it better than new. The problem is hydraulics not mechanical

Sorry what i ment was that i rest my foot on it a bit before i change gears... or if im accelerating... if im just cruising and not needing to change then my foot is on the rest..
