Its been done to death by now.
Go to the group by section and you see there are whole bunch of members are getting one now.
Since you aren't a newbie, as you join at 2002, i don't think i need to remind you to use the search button on top of the page, which located next to "Forum FAQ". You will find there are heaps of posts/threads on this topic.

I seriously havent visited this site in maybe 18months from memory, so appologies for repeating. I did type xenon into search and returned nothing.
Delete post if possible then.

might want to try the h3 conversion first. Costs about $50, and adds about 40% to your light output.
hids are great, i think 6000k is the best "colour". Whitest.

Try search for HID instead of Xenon.
There are lots of us who tried that H3 conversion before and those who done it, will still tell you the head lights are still pretty dim. HID are much brighter.
Hey Liquidity where on earth did you pull that 40% figure from? I seriously think you should get a FTO first before you start posting "recommendation". I don't see the point of just reading someone else post and then "cut and paste" it, without any actual experience

HID would be much better, 40% sounds too generous for H3.
Contacted Xenonoz for a price, figured around $1000+ would be the go. I know there are a lot cheaper options.... but maybe you get what you pay for with this sort of a product....

They can be still expensive, depends on which brand and quality you after.
But for $250 at the group buy, its really its a good bargain you can't miss.

I've done a h3/h4 comparison on my own car and a few others.
i've also installed relays/cabling to suit 100w h4's over 50w h4's on a car.
so "hey fto338", i think you could ask me quietly in pm. save us all some embarrasement. I havent said "this definently works" about anything fto related yet, but a fair few cars use headlights
Now back on topic, sure i'll admit 40% is my just my own opinion. The fact there was a "kelvin change" because we used whiter philips bulbs (up from yellowish stockers) probably had an effect too.
No argument, HID kicks anything elses *arse* in lighting and output, but h3 and/or 100w upgrades can also satisfy a few people, and hell, its only $50 to try (And would work while your scouting out a hid kit), right?
If it really doesnt do much in the fto headlights though, ah well. Just trying to help

I'm not embarrassed, i'm not the one who made the bogas claim. Try to help is great, but just last week you were asking all sort of questions on a car which you have no idea about, now this week you giving advice on a FTO without owning one

Is like a L plate trying to tell a full licence how to drift just because he/she "google" it.
Lets not forget you called members here are "fu*kwits", which i kindly removed before all hell break lose.
Anyway on my FTO, i've did the relay kit and then installed the HID with extra washer and heat/dust shield. It was originally for the 100w HB4 which i installed before as well. So i've done what ever you mention but on a FTO.
I've actually mention that in the H3/H4 conversion thread.

i'm giving advice on possible things to try, but i'm not giving an "Fto specific" outcome.
I didnt call members fuckwits, that was in relation to a outrageous body kit, and i said "i'm sure some ** would buy it". I wasnt referring to members here at all.
Lets all chill, eh.

Lol, not joke.
Just want to be clear i meant people in "australia" when referring to "here", not this site. this forums is great
I was giving advice on a lightbulb, not an fto, and by the way, i'm currently a lighting tech by trade and we use the same halogens in some of our lights as people put in cars.

Whilst I appreciate your attempts at advice Liquidity, your post that has since been moved was well out of line. Suggest you have a good read of this before you do anymore on this site:

I'm locking this thread, as i'm sure Craig should able to find the actual relevant posts on this topic.
And Liquidity, if you were over it, why did you edit your post and stir it up again.
Its not the first time you try to give "cut and paste advance" on FTO, you already done it on other threads. And don't tell us you a trade of everything. You might work on other cars before, but posting false clam on a car you never work on isn't helping anyone.
Again let me remind you, there are lots of members here own more then one or two cars, sure we refer to them every now and then, but not to the extend of assure others it will have the same result or make up some figures to "feel smart".
If we stupid enough to do that, mind as well use a Ferrari as a bench mark for everything.
You've been warn, so don't force us to ban you before you even own a FTO (and incase you think you just rego another username and log on again. I can tell you now that won't work)
