Buying a car interstate

I know this might have been mentioned couple of times but anyways…………
I am seriously thinking of buying a small 4x4, one of those HRV’s
The car I like in QLD though
I am able to organise the inspection, tests, etc….
However, not sure about what involves in registering the car in VIC, and the cost of this.
Researched the forum a bit and found things like
What’s this permit to drive to another state? Cant I just drive it from QLD to here, and fix it all up here? I should be able to drive the car anywhere in Aus right?
What are the costs involved? Should I go this path?
Finally, can I just be cheeky and do nothing about the rego, drive the car back to VIC, and live happily ever after.

Not sure what this blue slipping is?You need to get the car blue slipped, you can't just get the registration transferred
Do I have to deregister the car in QLD? Or can I do this from VIC?De register the car in Vic.... get a permit to drive the car into NSW from Vic roads, pink slip it in NSW and register it.
Make sure you have all the details of the previous owner. And by all I mean ALL, including an invoice for the sale for the vehicle stating vin/chassis number, engine number, colour, old rego number etc! Inc finance check
