Hi all,
My tranny has out of Warranty and I was too lazy to get the thing looked at. I had a rebuild a year ago. I dont think its a mchanical fault more electral.
When my car shifts from first to second it feels like it goes into nutrual, then when revs drop it engages. So imagine putting your car in nutural when changing gears, then it engages very soon after. Its not harsh though.
What ya reckon? How do you know your ECU is stuffed? Hows got a spare one?

I take it you've checked for error codes? If not see here how to
http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=31351
It will tell you if you have a problem, assuming of course you have a tip box.

no error codes. I guess the people I took it to were not sure about the FTO tranny! Damn shame.
Yeah i guess I have to!
Oil is still nice and red and there is no burning involved.
No error codes.

It does it more in fully auto, less in tip. Is this weird? Are line pressures increased when tip mode is engaged?
Im thinking my ECU is screwed.

i thought you can reset the ECU by just disconnecting the battery from the + and - poles and wait for a moment and reconnect it back again??
try if it helps your ECU and make it alive again...

sure its not just the solanoids? if these on the way out the gear changing is crap and doesn't do it properly etc...take it to a good auto trans place...my guys work wonders and never cost me move than a few hundred.
