Just out of curiosity, what are the fuel prices around Oz atm ?

Here in Adelaide price goes up on a wednesday, so Tuesday night or Wednesday morning is the time to fill up.

I got BP Ultimate for 138.9 yesterday. Cheapest its been for a few months... Probably not the cheapest in Adelaide, but its one of the only servo's with 98 RON in my area...

Also interested in rural prices. I was in Woomera last week (dont ask) and regular unleaded was around the 145.9 mark 8O

hey I live on the southside of brisbane, and the cheapest I found yesterday was 129.7 for shell optimax.

it was the cheapest for a while now as well (was cheaper than the price of regular unleaded on last weds 8O )

why are you interested in fuel prices anyway?

Like I said, just out of curiosity. Seeing the price difference in Woomera compared to Adelaide made me ask myself, "I wonder what they pay in the rest of the country". No conspiracy theories or anything LOL.

Well I always fill up on either Tuesday or Wednesday morning (by wednesday arvo the prices go up by the 15 cents!)

Regular unleaded was 128.9, I never pay attention to how much 98 octane is, even though I always fill up with it lol

SEE this isn't post whoring, i'm sticking to the topic of the thread :P

Im so proud of you LOL

98 is about 10c/l more than the crappy stuff. Should have seen the lines at the servo's yesterday when regular dropped to 128.9. So it seems Adelaide and Sydney are about on par... and the most I've paid for 98 so far is about 146.9

premo was i think $1.46 when i last checked but standard fuel was around 1.35

i'm in melb and i bought BP ultimate for $1.39 this morning...
it's the first time in months i've seen it under $1.40!!!
paid about $1.51 a couple of weeks ago

also, QLD petrol prices are always gonna be about 5 cents a litre cheaper
because the state government subsidises fuel

When you get old like me, youre entitled to one spelling mistake. Pointing it out though is classic Post Whoring... Whats the next rank up from UPW Ben ?

hey, just got a question here...

anyone knows whether there's a difference in using a 91 octane fuel, or a 95 octane fuel, or even a 98 octane fuel?

The price is a huge difference though...

Thanks!

91 will causing pinging... and the ecu will retard the timing to avoid the pinging... my man filled up with 91 once... and i got 250kms out of a full tank... from F to E it was pretty bad... and the powerloss omg...

95 is ok u still get about 400kms per tank... but i didnt like the powerloss...

98 gets me about 450km per tank and its more responsive and gives more power... the kms have been tested but the power is just from feeling :)

hmmm, dont think that will make such a big difference though..

have been using 91 since i got the car (few months ago) and i can have an average of 550km per tank and sometimes i can even get more than 600km!

hmmm, for what i know, these octane numbers are a symbol of the "burn-ability" of the fuel... 98 being hardest to be burnt and 91 being easiest to be burnt... and the reason they produce 91 and 98 is because some cars when they use 91, their car get "knocking" which the fuel explode before it is being ignited...

But so far i dont find it a problem in my car... hmmm, maybe i shall try once using 98 and i shall update you guys ya 8)

sorry if i am wrong but if there's any chemistry expert here, please correct me ya...

This topic been cover heaps of time already, FTO ECU are designed to run on 100ron, so by using 91, you are slowly killing your car.
