Think you might need to explain 'sticky' a bit more. If you mean you it wont allow you to gear down a gear its probably because you're trying to do it at too high an rpm or the gearbox isnt quite warm enough yet. Especially first gear will usually only go in cold at an almost dead stop but you shouldnt be gearing down to first or second at high rpm anyway.
If you mean the gear stick isn't going moving freely around and feels like its fighting against you it may be your cables. Check the cable bracket in the engine bay. Sometimes the nut that holds the cable to it gets loose and can cause that.

when I first got my FTO imported, if I tried to change from 1st to 2nd above 5000rpm it would just crunch and not go in, I changed the gearbox oil and its all good now.
With yours it sounds more like the syncro rings are worn and probably need replacing.

I meant it really hard to put into 2nd gear and sometime reverse gear need to push hard to get into gear…So if it is the case of the syncro ring is worn out where would I go to get another one…coz I been searching for information on syncro and synchronizer rings on the net and I can’t really find anything useful…thank for the responses.

I guess the best way to find out is to pull it out and have a look. From what it sounds you may have to do that anyway.
