It clearly states that the LSD from the ralliart magna come from the FTO.
(supposedly from GPvR as we know it, other version do not come with LSD)

If this is the case, is it possible to get the LSD from Mitsubishi Australia to retrofit onto our FTOs? Would anyone possible be able to find out the cost of the part and if it is a direct fit?

Can anyone advise?

dont know if the information is correct, but experience tells me that you should believe everything you read. Wheels a few months ago reconed that gpx fto has an lsd which we all know isnt true.

Yeah, as far as we know. Onli the GPvRs come with LSD (both manual and Tip Versions).

So if the part is correct, we should theoretically fit it in without any probs. rite?

1.Would anyone know the part number of the FTO LSD?

2.Is it possible to find out the part number of the Ralliart Magna LSD?

3.Are there any mitsubishi parts stockist that we can buy this from?

i had always thought only GPvRs came with LSDs as factory standard fitment, whereas LSDs are optional on the GPX???

anyways, since you are buying genuine Mitsubishi part from a Mitsi dealer, don't exoect a good price for it coz like any genuine dealer servicing, they will rip you off!

someone mentioned a cusco LSD for the FTO costs aroun 1200.

does anyone know the specs? is it a 1way? 1.5way? 2way?

can it fit a tip?

The Cusco catalogue didn't say anything about not able to fit a tip so it should alright. I enquired about them awhile ago. If I remember correctly, it's a 1.5 way.

But G1 on the forum has one he doesn't mind selling.

the one i have is a 1 way, its brand new and sitting in the box. let me know if you are interested. i'll double check whether there is issues fitting a tip

just found out... it will only fit in a manual. oh well if there is no buyers by the end of the year, i'll probably fit it in my car...

Oh well...i guess we can onli look to scrap GPvRs n swipe e LSDs from them...which are as rear as dinos poo...

or alternatively...mitsubishi australia...

Just as a side note Special Edition FTOs have LSD equipped as standard as well.

?f you want a cusco lsd, you can get one at RPW. The cost is around $1 700.

RPW has a Cusco LSD in stock MZ range right now if anyone is interested.

Big difference! when u turn slowly, the whole car vibrates. When u launch the car it pulls harder

It does sound like a 4wd which has lsd (jeep cherokee). If you ever drove Jeep, or perhaps other magna vrx, you will know.

ive been in cars equipped with lsd before and they dont shudder on slow turns....is it a characteristic of aftermarket lsd's? or do some shudder and some dont?

The shudder / vibration might be caused by the inside wheels as you turn. Due to the extra torque a LSD provides to the inner wheels during a turn, at higher speed they can slip, whereas at lower speeds and with better tyres there can be two opposing forces that end up causing vibration - one trying to make the inside wheel spin, the other trying to grip the road.

How this happens depends upon all the different variables such as the ratio of the LSD, the speed you're going, the rate of turn, the grip of the tyres and the condition of the road - in simple terms how much torque is applied to the inner wheel and how easily it can spin or how much grip it has. So it would be a variable of all these different issues not one of original vs. aftermarket or Mitsubishi vs. Subaru etc.

How do you actually tell if an fto has an LSD?
Is it very visible when you look underneath the car?

Jack the front of the car up, turn one of the front wheels and if you have LSD it should turn the same direction. If you don't have LSD it will turn the opposite direction. I think that is correct
