Hi I'm chasing Part# MD318667. Rang mitsubishi and they want 111 bucks for it. I also went to Repco and they said the car is not listed. Can anyone help me with how to get a reasonably priced genuine or alternative.
The belt is pretty much sheared in half although it's still holding on I really want to change it.

hey i had the same problem with my belt shredding.. the cause was the power steering pump had a little too much moovement in it .. and aparently ive been told by camskill the power steering pumps in ftos are a common failure.
might wanna get it re built. my belt snaped 2times over 3month period. and if your driving your car while it snaps.. it will take out other stuff my crank angle sensor was taken out..
but anyway as far as i know .. the belt i have on there now .. is a bosch
might wanna give them a call directly and ask them.
of the top of my head i think i paid somewhere beetween 30-60$ for it
was a little bored and intrested to find out myself.. found the part numbers in the catalogue online.. they had no fto.. but had the galant 6a12 which im sure as hell would fit fto
Galant 93-96 HJ DOHC 24v 2.0L 6 cyl.
Eng. : 6A12
Alt 4PK955
A/C 4PK705
Camshaft BT954
hope that helps

Looking at the complete FTO site the GR an GPX belts are different so the Galant one would be the GR belt yeah? Ben I have a GPX so is that the correct (enough) GPX belt?

I just checked CAPS & both GR & GPX reports the same part number MD318667 (which is what that Bosche belt is based on.)
If your not sure, just take the old belt upto your auto shop & they should be able to match it up for you - thats what I did.

LOL - I didnt mean cut it off, nor did I mean drive to the shop with it off!
You loosen 2 12mm bolts & you can take it off.

No worries thanks for that, I'll be fitting it myself so I'll have to pick up some beer for payment to myself.
