Whining noise from drive belt/pully area

It is making a slight whine when you have lifted off the throttle only. Sounds to me like it might be a noisy bearing in one of the pully's, or the belt is slipping slightly when on slow down.
Anyone have any ideas? Getting lots of work done to it shortly (hopefuly next week), so not too concerned, but would like to have an idea what it is.
Not driving it at the moment as a precaution only.

engine mounts, probably. Mine did it when I accelerated and braked.
If it happens only when wet, then it's the belts or pulley. You can try tightening the belts and see if it helps.

the easy way to check is to take all the belts off...and spin the pully and see if it spins freely.
also the belts...they might be loose...mine were not loose but "glazed" and hence they were slipping a bit once they got hot...made a sh*t noise...Now I have replaced my belts..checked the pullys and its all gone...and sweet!

Sound like it might be that, cause it only happens once they are warm. Either that or someone slipped a turbo and the worlds wierdest BOV on the car!
Just hoping it isn't the altenator suggesting it has had enough....any way of ruling that out?

hmm dunno cos I have never done it. If your alternator isn't working I would expect wierd voltage problems.
Mine, once warm, you be very noisy...sorta sounded like tappets but not form the right spot...was the belts rubbing against the pullies..the belts looked ok on the top but not so good underneigth.
Its quite cheap to replace all the belts and get the pully's checked..I think the belts cost abour $25 each and the labour...well u can do it yourself or spent another $50/$70 and have someone do it for you. very easy to replace..
as a first step replace them and go from there - least you will have new belts
