Do I have the torquest FTO or what?

Here is the dyno grapgh from the EXE dyno day. Done at PROTEK Preston.
2 runs in total.
First run:
Max Power: 99.9 KW
Max Torque: 379.9 NM

Second run:
Max Power: 100.6 KW
Max Torque: 382.3 NM

Now beat that!!!

Here are my questions and comments regarding to the graph, Please correct or express your view

Power;
- Although I dont have a dip during the mivec point, it looks pretty flat between 5600rpm-6100rpm
- Why there is a slight dip at 6500rpm
- Why there is a big dip at 7200rpm.
- Why is this graph not smooth? I have seen FTO dyno results almost like drawn with a ruler, wihout any flactuation, except the mivec point.

Torque;
- Damn my car puts out a lot of torque. I have put out 2,5 times more torque than stock FTO. Love it. Seriously, whats wrong with the numbers?
- Again, why are there so many dips and rises?
- The power loss at 7200rpm is significantly captured in torque as well.


Also I have a problem which existed for a long time.
Straight after the ECU reset my car is very powerful, but it kinda looses the power in time afterwards.
For eg; after I put the extractors (alternator changes the same time as well, they reset the ECU during the change), my car were flying, there was so much power which I never felt before, but than after a while like 2-3 days it went back to normal sluggish power again.
Also, my car looses power big time around 2500-3000rpm, it is a weird feeling, sometimes around this rpm range, you feel the speed is increasing but the rpm is dropping.
For eg; 2krpm in 3rd, accelerating, 2200rpm, accelerating, 2400rpm, accelerating, 2500rpm, accelerating, at this point is stays at 2500rpm while still accelerating or even drops like 50rpm while still accelerating, afterwards, rpm picks up again, it almost feel like having trouble to go pass that 2500rpm-3k rpm range. Car have less power in that rpm range.
This happens in 4th as well, I am assuming 1st, 2nd as well, however, it is very hard to feel as the ratio is higher.
Any idea about this problem?

Actually I’ve got 400 plus last time I went to Pro-tek, the dyno they got there is not calibrated for torque, so that figure is just a dream.

I am assuming the torque/rpm graph is correct, although the numbers are wrong?

I assume so. I had the same question in my mind when i got the dyno sheet & then they told me their dyno is a bit stuff & can't be calibrate for two different things at once.

So thats one of the reason why i was against going there to do dyno run when you first suggested.

Also things like wheels effect torque

I never considered torque at the wheels as anything remotely accurate

u can get a good idea. if calibrated it is ok as I have done it a few times on a hub dyno...i.e. no wheels. but real life...yeah

my fto was 1200! so eat that

its funny how a dyno graph will make some people believe it what they think is right.

All dyno printouts read high when it comes to Torque.

So your max power is 100kw at wheels which seems about right but torque levels are approaching 400NW??

Do you understand what 400NW is when put into reality??? With production engines with a CC of 2000 a figure more around 200NM so bascially half of what is quoted on the graph. With 400NM you would have the pulling power of a engine 4000+ CC's. An EVO produces 350NM and this car is a low 13 second machine.

IF the FTO has 400NM you would see the front wheels smoke up all the time. If the FTO has 400NM is would be a massive torque steerer and would be a drag monster.

i onli have like 380NM
