Performance Q's for a 6A12 Mivec Lancer

Hey,
I've been asking around mitsubishi forums and other performance forums and haven't really got the answers I want.
I have a '97 CE Lancer with the 6A12 MIVEC (spetz's knows the car).
Now i understand there is NO room left and Mivecs respond badly (or don't at all) to a turbo conversion.
I understand that it would cost around the $10,000 mark to do a turbo, but is it possible (has anyone here done it) and what power did it make?
What turbo/cooler/ecu would you recommend using?
I'm inclined to think a TD05 turbo with a custom 400x300x76 size cooler with 550cc injectors and an Apexi Power FC.
Hopefully around 180-190kw @ wheels (i have 132fwkw atm)
If I don't turbo the engine, what more mods do you guys recommend for best performance? It has an exhaust, filter, extractors and CAI.
I'm tossing up the Link Plus ECU and the Power FC. Also the benefits of injectors, fuel pump etc.
Any thoughts you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know its a full exhaust system, RPW extractors, k&n Pod Filter and CAI.
Also has Coilovers, heavy duty clutch and strut brace.
Why is this figure so high? What do others have? Anyone help me with the turbo idea?

Well don't quote me but the engine makes 147 kw stock back in the day so that's very little loss through the drive train. Mine got less than 110 on the dyno.

132kws is a great number,
The reason why we think is high I think due to the weight of the FTO.
I know the weight of the CE is much lighter than FTO, I used to have one. As a result engine/chasis combinations is producing more power,
With the same engine FTO supposed to get stock 150kws at the flywheel. Translate to the on the wheels is around 95-110kws depending on the combination.
Considering you are getting 132kws on the wheels, it seems that same engine/CE chassis combination is producing is around 190kws at the flywheel.
Which is fine, Enjoy the joys of the light weight car.

Weight should not have a major bearing on a dyno sheets. After all, you're propelling rollers which are the same weight for everyone run =P
You'll see better times in a straight with the PTW ratio being higher (Given you have the same traction) but power output should not change.
The components that cause power loss should be the same as I'd assume the gearbox would not have been changed in the transplant.
So, yeah I'm scratching my head about it at well =)
They are good numbers to pull out, but I'm just a little wary about them =)
I haven't been on a dynometer in a long time so I have no idea what my car is pulling these days, but distinctly remember running around 110, and that's with a manual tranny.
It's really interesting to see that you're getting fairly rich near the end of your RPM range. Your mid->top end should do with a bit of tuning though. Especially where the power is regressing slightly near the end

dynos, dynos, dynos...there are never the same and many are rated high these days...i take no notice these days...
weight of the car...no effect on the dyno..however if they havn't setup the settings correct u can get some crazy numbers..

yes you must always take dyno no's with a grain of salt...
im sure a mivec engine in a lancer would be quite interesting..due to the reduction in weight...
but 132kw atw is very high for what you have listed as the weight bears no relation to power atw...
plus your dyno graph looks a little wierd after mivec compared to other graphs ive seen...where's the taper off of power at the end?

dont know about how much space the lancer has.. but maybe look into a 6A13 instead of a 6A12..

Here are my results buts its auto, it has RPW extractors, Manifold with a 65mm TB and cat back exhaust, FPR, tuned with an Emange... Its only 110 KW. I think your overestimating the stock FTOkw i would say that a stock fto would get around 80kw this is what flygirl got on her stock fto before turboing it...

I have the paper with the number and i'm sticking to it
Point of this thread was turboing my mivec...
Can it be done?
Where?
Cost?
What parts?
And what power should i expect?

Don't turbo it
If you want massive power, just call RPW for the 2.5 litre bottom end swap
With forged internals, ported heads, 12.5:1 CR it will be a beast!
The extractors are Pro-iida not RPW
It also has a magna throttle body which is 65mm

Last time RPW quoted me around 10k with just 2.5L swap, so expect around $15k with forged internals & ported head.

Just spoke with dave and no one has done this yet... They have an engine their waiting to be build once someone is keen to pay for it.
Got an estimate of around 8 to 10K
