installing lowering springs

Has anyone lowered their car themselves....
just wondering how hard it is to do it and what tools would u need...
i just got myself some king springs...
any help will be great!!!

not sure its that easy without the right tools..I would suggest take them to a suspension joint and have them do it...but nice1 for wanting to do it urself.

Main thing you will need is a spring compressor
Took me about 2 1/2 hours to do mine - but I had a hoist. Not recommended for doing on the front lawn! And dont forget to get a wheel alignment straight after.

I haven't really had a good play around with the FTO suspension yet, but I just thought I should mention that when refitting the strut tops back onto the strut, make sure you don't pinch the strut top bearings, because at work we had a few commodores come in complaining about a clunking noise when turning the steering wheel.
we found that they had lowering springs fitted and who ever fitted them pinched the strut top bearings, It may not be the same on the FTO but just wanted to make sure you didn't do the same thing.

i might have a play with it after exams....
which is like 6 weeks time...
how much would it cost in the shops??
