Hope that helps.

I am sure the connection bits on the inside of the piping would be quite bad for airflow

Okay, dunny pipe intake Mk1 flow was very good (had it dyno'ed) but the setup proved to be a bit out.... it actually fell off on the dyno!

So had to make a few changes. When using a solid pipe, there has to be some give somewhere in the chain as the motor tilts quite a lot when under load. The stock pipes have a corrugated looking part of the pipe to compensate for that - I used a more flexible bracket to mount the filter to the car. A new box & some piping dimension changes as well - she works a treat! Also modded the hole in the box to allow the air flow sensor through. Last thing will probably be to line the box with the old windsheild sun visor.....Plus a decent paint job this time.

Hey with it painted, it looks quite good, with those rubber bits that goes on to the throttle and MAF sensor are they just bit of rubber hose?

It was actually a plumbing grade 65mm rubber coupler that I cut in half. The TB is 65mm so it was a nice fit, but the mouth of the MAF sensor is 75mm - so I heated the coupling up and with a little vasoline it went on ok

$27 on a new intake is pretty good as you could spend big money on a big name intakes that probably give you the same power increase, you could get it chrome dipped and make it look like it was metal, but it looks good the way it is.

Yeah did think about chrome dipping it, but in a few months time there is likely to be a blower in that engine bay, so Im not gonna waste too much more coin
