Hey guys, what is the best suspension you can get for FTO. i have been quoted $2500 for tiens with the works including fitting...

They must be the sh*tty ones. From what I remember 4 fully adjustable teins with pillowtops is an easy 3.5k or so. But yes, tein are teh best. Just remember that they are racing coilovers and not little girl springs.

thought you could get the whole tein set in ebay for 1.5k?

Teins aren't the best you can buy, they are probably the best value for your money though.

i got quoted ~2500 aswell for teins... they're the best all rounders for track/street i reckon..

2500 were for the super street, i think height adjustable and damper adjustable...includes pillow balls, and are easy to replace the shocks component when they wear out because theres dealers in aus. and i think the only tein struts u can fit edfc (damping controller) too, to adjust inside the car. theyre built for street as the name suggests and probly the best u wanna get for the just the street imo, but also good for track at the twist of some knobs.

i went into rpw with my mind set for cheap lovells and some fancy bound/rebound adjustable shocks to give me something to think about at a track, but it starts to add up when you include pillowball mounts aswell which come standard on teins and it got close to 22/2500 anyway

if i had a car i wanted to convert to race only id skip past most teins for sure,

You can get the Tein SS though, for $2K
I got them. They are good. They are classed as street driving with track work. But they really are street only. The springs are just right for australia roads, dampers could be harder on full hard. They are way too soft for any sort of serious track work though

I saw a website with my Beilstien coil-overs, i think it was like $2000 a corner. Stiff as a brick they are!

i would recomend KONI damp. adjustable only....high quality..will cost u about 11000 just for the set though...then fitting!

I usually don't like advertising what I have on public forums, but anyways.

I've got Cusco Zero-2R in my car. Some of you people might say I'm nuts, but I find it tolerable on the softest damping settings ( I also don't have the standard spring rates )

Mind you, I haven't had the chance to do circuit work with them to test out the suspension at a harder rating. Been itching to try it but alas =) I'm thinking most people would be satisfied with going something more sporty but not full race spec (It's like modifying your internals if you're going the NA route, you can't got full on because you'll lose drivability)

Im looking at maybe going for something a little softer than my Bilsteins as im about to start doing quite a bit of driving on rougher roads that my FTO has previously been used to and was told recently that the Koni's would be the best bet. Who stocks these and how many different flavours do they come in. I was thinking height and damper adjustable if that is possible. Oh and a price if possible (if this is different from that mentioned above)

the tein importer in australia was changed about 12 months ago. Since then we are not paying rip off prices for tein parts which is why the price has come down.

I like to think that my conversation with Teins International Sales Manager had something to do with that.

Suspension should never rattle. If something is rattling, then something is loose.

Stiffening suspension up usually making things that are wrong suspension wise more obvious.

has anyone heard of racing logic coilovers??? i can get these fitted for $2000.

There's always the whiteline option. They do the full kit for about $2k and from what I've heard they're reconditioned Konis. Whiteline are quite involved in the rally side of things in oz.

yeah i investigated those, but that full kit is not coilovers, its springs, shocks, sway bars and a few other bits and peices...
about $2500 fitted...
