hey,

i wasnt sure if my mechanics are bs me or not, but has anyone had any problem with their brake capliers? apparently, mine needs to be rebuilt cos of some sort of leakage and failure of some o rings...

has anyone encounter such problems?

thanks again...

Rebuild is a good idea for older calipers. Over time they accumulate brake dust, dirt and grit which can cause the pistons to seize up.

Yep, tis a good thing to have done.

Pistons can seize, slide pins can seize, o-rings do deteriorate over time.

If its a GPX front caliper then you can buy a reco kit for an EVO II / III. Its the same caliper.

I beleive the main piston seals are also common to the Mitsubishi Triton.
It may get expensive if you have to replace the pistons thou....

I'm sure Bennoz will correct me if I'm wrong but the 'reco kits' for the Evo he's mentioning IS the same caliper rebuid / service kit your mech requires (equivalent parts?).

Does the $200 a corner quote include labour? Camskill (UK) has the rebuild kits for around AUS$80 per corner before freight. (Link here)

Should only take about an hour each corner to do, on top of the parts cost.

Is the rear piston common to any other mistus?
