The 2006 Show 'n' Shine was held today at Glenelg, being organised by the EVO/GSR Club.

Firstly, a big thanks to the club for putting on a fantastic day and for inviting us to attend. They are such a well run club and it was another example of their professionalism with the event today.

Was great to see Artful Dodger there too - Roger, please to meet you finally and hopefully you will come along to our next cruise.

Perfect weather for it today also helped to make the event a huge success. Shame there was only 3 of us, but maybe next year....

And finally, a big thanks to Steve (and family) for their company, hospitality and of course, the cheese. Oh, and the lunch. And for losing so graciously! :D

Yep, thats right...

I WON!!!

All my hours of preparing, cleaning and adding things to the car paid off (thankfully). Lets see....
- The GT wing was a right pain in the butt to put on,
- painting the front hub and calipers was rather time consuming,
- cleaning the engine bay was a masterstroke,
- putting the dual CAI on looks good if nothing else,
- the dial rings and needle cups look great,
- and I finally worked out how the pedals went on!

Not to mention the cleaning, touching up and re-painting of various things.

And Steve, there is a photo of the trophy if you want to download it.

Guys (n Girls)!!

Thanks for coming along today!! The FTO's looked sweeet!!

Im going to need to buy one - just to get one of those stickers!!!

Dont be too cocky with that Trophy MrX!!!! That was some SERIOUSLY close judging. Your 3 cars took as long to seperate as some classes with 9 or 10 cars!!!

Once again I hope you had a great day......we will keep up the invites to anything GSR/EVO, you will always be welcomed!!

Congrats on effort!!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun - good day to lay around and do nothing much too, as I didn't get home until after 5 that morning....oops.

Different story there 8)

And I was thinking about it last night actually. There may have only been 3 of us, but they were damn fine examples of FTO's, if I do say so myself. All different, all had interior and exterior mods (loved Rogers full leather interior...) and they looked really good on the day.

Cause, it helped that Barfy wasn't there!!!

was thinking about it last night

i think the judges got mixed up and thought the category was FT-hole

and with all those lovely post spoiler holes in your boot Shaun we stood no chance

Congrats Shuan - we'll give you a run for your money next year (now we know you have to clean under your bonnet)

Yeah, I thought that would have been commented on before now....

I was a bit surprised to actually get away with that and win! But, I don't know what the specific categories were, so who knows! Would be nice to know exactly what the judges are looking for, but really, none of us were there to try and win anything! That was just a nice by-product really.

From your friendly co-ordinator.

Which would be me.....

But you have to turn up to a cruise/event to get one! And if you want two, thats two events!

And yeah, would have been better than the football by all accounts....

Hey guys. Was good seeing you guys out there.

I had the pleasure of judging a few categories on the day (not FTO though - audio & built to drift) It's not an easy job by far and is actually quite frustrating to come to a decision. I'm sure that the judges had their reasons for choosing the way that they did. Luckily for me the Audio category had a stand out winner -great natural sound and great quality install. The Built to drift category was a hard one though.

Maybe Steve should have got more tint?

I think I got it figured Shaun,

The judges cant have been looking at the following;

Body : cos I got a body kit and you dont.
Finish : I got just as many chips as you but at least I polished my car LOL
Interior : well, we both got custom interior so thats down to taste...
Upholstory : They didnt see your "custom" job on the back seats did they ? ROFL
Mags : both got them too
Windows : Lets not even mention the tint...

So whats that leave ?

Speed holes in your boot, and the stripe. ROFL. Maybe I need graphics ?
I shouldnt have fixed your club sticker up should I LOL

And since it was during the day, they didnt get to see all my blue lights :( Bugger, that would have swayed them for sure ;)

But seriously, I had a great day. No hard feelings at all, it was just great to see the 3 FTO's in the middle of all the other cars. Made me proud to show off. So many ppl walking past trying to figure out what they were. And then there was our Cheese and Easter eggs... and the perfect weather.

P.S. Did your photo of my interior turn out at all Shaun, I would like a nice pic since the latest changes I made.

P.P.S. Big thanx to the MGEC for putting on the day, and inviting us of course. (Need to have a few words to those judges  )

Hope to see everyone at our next event :)

OK - my turn.....
1. Bodykit : shmodykit. How can you improve on such a good looking car? Why try?
2. Finish : I polished my car......a while back. And my stonechips must be better than yours.
3. Interior - mine is clearly better.
4. Upholstery - apparently not
5. Mags - yeah, but even you like my shadow-chrome more than yours
6. Windows - perhaps get a Mac?

My car with a nice clean, shiny engine bay with polished inlet manifold.

And of course, me with the trophy and the glory. Still waiting on the respect though....

And I didn't end up taking the photo I don't think, or it didn't turn out. Will get some next time. Or maybe not....

Ok it came down to 2 points out of 110!!!

The Jap spec drift wing with those sexy as FTO australia stickers were the clinching points for Shauns victory!!

They are sweet as stickers!!!

Umm, ok, umm did you notice I had 2 of those stickers on my car LOL
I guess I slit my own throat Shaun, when I fixed the sticker for you...
That'll teach me for being a nice guy... ROFL

Oh, did you manage to get the spanner out of your bootlid ?

As far as the award goes, its obviously down to personal taste (in this case of the judges), so as long as we are happy with our own cars, its irrelevant. (No respect from me ROFL)

Looking forward to the next cruise.

Ah Jamie - it's all fine! It has not started a civil war or anything, it's all in good fun!

And yes Steve, I did appreciate the assistance with the sticker! Perhaps I can repay by giving you some tips on cleaning your engine bay???
