not really...depends on the mods they have done. My mates older shape Type R blows my FTO away easily.

Oh, I wouldn't say kill. A jap spec one, for sure, but the watered down one in OZ is a pretty close thing.

Our cars look and sound a lot better though!

how would the FTO go against a DC5 Integra Type S, I think they are a little bit heaver than the FTO.

A friend mine took on a vti-r with his GR the other night
It was a close one but the GR came out on top and considering we had 3 ppl in the car i'd say the fto did pretty alright
As for the type-r, i guess a stock fto has no chance but when you consider the price difference between the two, i'd say the extra cash can be spent on the fto to make it on par with the type-rs

PS
As for the looks mrx... i have to say the old type-rs look better but not the new ones hehe

I find on a racing track the FTO and Integras are very similar, the only major difference are tyres and drivers. If you have similar mods that is.

FTO vs DC2 teggy eh? Well to be honest both in standard form they are very very matched. Get a GPX FTO get rid of some individuality, looks, lovely MIVEC sound and 2 cylinders you got yourself an integra. Nah they are pretty good cars they have to be to be compared to FTO's

hehe :P

Just to elaborate a little bit. Now here we are talking about similar mods and similar tyres ( both cars with semi-slicks )

I find that with my FTO, i can relativly easily keep up with a DC2R on straights and catch up. How ever i can defenetly feel the difference on the corners, how ever i feel on higher speed corners i feel less difference.

The DC5R is different. On the straights i can just keep up, Then on the corners it is very similar to the FTO, I would say the DC5R handles just a bit worse then the DC2R. The only way for me to get better lap times with an equally matched DC5R is to outbreak.

That's what i feel anyway, not sure how technically true it is.

If you are interested here are the lap times, hot lap results from wakefield.

Hope that help a bit more in the discussion

Those Type R's I got to say must have an advantage with than LSD, only if the FTO was the same, I know that the GPvR came with one, but they should of done it to the GPX aswell.

Ive beaten both the DC2 TR and DC5 Type S, the DC2 was on the day i got mine dyno tuned, and the dc5 was just the other nite on the M5 heading home from tafe, he kept xcelerating and breaking rite next to me, so i put it back into third and floored it and pulled away eaisly, he was pretty shocked, haha he probly thought it would be an ezy win  !!!!

yeah you can get them if u have the revs up...if your down under 3k u will be in trouble.

I don't know about having the rev up high, When I took a DC5 for a drive, it felt the same, but I would have to say that it might have an advangate on the track because it had an LSD and a 6 speed, so you can keep the revs up high around the corners, but the FTO feels a lot better to drive.
