Hi Guys,
Started my car today and it backfired on start and wouldnt start for about 30 seconds, once it did it idle high and when driving it runs very rough. If i drive it without my foot on the accelerator it will kangaroo hop at low speeds.
I have run my car low on fuel a few times lately so i thought it might be the injectors so i have put some cleaner in and have filled up the tank.
Still having the same probs, anyone know what this could be ?

It could be a few things, but to me I have a feeling that your TPS might be playing silly bugers.
I had this problem on a RODEO at work, with no throttle the TPS was reading 5% throttle, so it was revin high at idle, pain in the ass to drive as it had a tiny flatspot and kangaroo hop a bit.
I would bring it to mitsubishi or someone with a special diognostic computer that can display that type of information.
but also you could have worn engine mounts that will give you the kangaroo hops, and a vacuume leak somewhere like at the intake manifold or throtle which will give you a high idle.

I've also had that problem but it was a completely different solution.
Usually when my fuel tank was running low, sometimes it would bunny hop at low speeds. The mechanics cleaned my fuel tank and I can't believe how much rust, water, and crap was in there and that's what gets sucked into your engine when the fuel level is really low. Now I always keep my tank above the quarter mark just to be safe.
It also helps to regularly replace your fuel filter as well and never pump petrol at the station when there is a petrol tanker refilling their reserves coz all the crap mixes into all the fuel and gets pumped straight into your tank.

Now that makes sence Nacho as i have been running my fuel really low over the last probably 3 refills, thats why i thought all the sh*t in the tank has dirtyied all the injectors ...

It's very hard to tell what the problem is unless you get a sample of what your fuel is like. Replace your fuel filter and see what happens. It's not cheap to get your fuel tank or injectors cleaned.
