Seeing that its such a nice day, and I cbf forking out $$$ for some new rotors... So:

Today I took the time to paint my calipers and disc hub area 8)

The colour I chose is Aluminum/silver Hi temp paint - because my car is silver, and i have bronze/gold rims...

Hrs it took to do all 4 sides:

10:30am to 3:30pm (with break in between) - Therefore 4.5hrs

Amount of times I said *!$%!:

>5

Amount of $$ spent in doing this job?

$15

Looking Bling and feeling satisfied?

Priceless :D

***************************

My rusty rotor and calipers before i started:

I found that my left rear wheel seemed to have the most amount of rust as compared to the other sides, not sure why. Nontheless, i spent a good amount of time sitting on each side sanding down the damn rust and using rust prevent liquid thingy my dad game me to wipe the rust off. Then I used degreaser to wipe off any impurities on the calipers and rotor hubs.

Masking my car and parts where I dont wanna get paint all ova:

Going insane with the spray can like Im a tag artist  :

And finally, after hrs of intense labour :o , the final product:

*******************************

Im gonna take the car out for a drive tonite - letting it dry now. It'll take 24 hr for it to fully dry though.

Gonna go driving tonite which will be involving some "braking" actions  , so that I can get some excess paint off the rotor.

That way, I can make sure that my brakes will work like it suppose to :P

Depends on what rims you have and the offset, yes you can see the hub. That's why I've gotta paint the hub before autosalon.

hey guys
when i had my fto
i painted my calipers red
i foudn that after painting and it dried within 20min or so i took the car out and gave it some logn drive with occasional hard braking
it made the caliper paint look much nicer that looks like tis got a coat of clear coat
hope that helps
btw the product i used was the VHT caliper paint in sydney
if anyone in sydney need help i'm willing to help
if u live in innerwest that is
i still have some red paint left and u can have it if u want for free
i have about 75% of the bottle left

I've been hearing rumours here in VIC that very shortly painting calipers will be illegal and also something to do with rim and tyre size among other things will be changed for the worse also.

Anyone else heard of this?
