My Imported FTO

A couple you might remember me talking about Importing an FTO, well I go pick it up next week on Monday (27th).
I went to get it thought 'Special Vehicle Imports', Why I decided to import: Well I wanted a Fresh FTO and I guess importing one would be the only way, I know there are some good FTO here for sale but one stage they were imported.

The import Process:
basically at the start of November last year is when I e-mail 'SVI' about me wanting to import an FTO and they sent me examples of FTO's that they have sold, to get things happenin you have to pay the consultant fee whick is $1650, but you can pay half up front and the other half later, his fee is for them to start searching and sort out all the paper work, basically get it from Japan to here.
I think it was about a week and a half for them to find the FTO that I was looking for (black, manual, GPX, with low Km's), that day they rang me to see how much I was willing to bid on the car because it was on a auction, so basically now I got the car.
Now the car had to be deregestered and shipped to here, it took about 3 weeks for it to be shipped here and it landed here in Australia on the 22nd of December, one thing that held things up was that when it landed here it was at the start of the christmas holidays, so it ended up sittin in customs til the 3rd of January.
After customs it was trucked to SVI where it had a few scratches fixed up and then trucked to the complience centre, it spent about 3 weeks there, and then they ran into a few trouble I think it was get my FTO back to SVI, it was goin to take 10 day to be able to get it trucked there, and then basically where I'm up to know, waiting for it to be regestered for me to pick up.

After all this it cost me up $18,950:
First half of the consultant fee - $825
Purchase and deregestering - $6609.20
Shipping and Customs - $3897.19
Complience, trucking and new tires - $6812.42
Last hald of consultant fee - $825

I know I could of saved a lot of money and time If I bought one here, but like I said I wanted a fresh one, all I can say is it has been a very very long wait and dieing to get my hands on it.

That's seriously a large amount.

Was your car a test vehicle for the RAWS, and who was it if you don't mind me asking?

complience itself is $5,500 and then there was getting it trucked around and it got new tyres aswell, so all up it was $6,812.42 on the invoice.
I'm not sure where it was complied, I know SVI have a complience centre but I think it was done somewhere else, I will find out when I pick it up.

Nonetheless, it's awesome to see someone's imported one already. Nice work mate. You probably have one of the first few FTOs to come in since SEVS.

yeah complience took awhile, I live in Qld and I think complience on my car was done in NSW for some reason, after complience was done it took another 2 week for it to be trucked back in Qld.

Yeah to my understanding the only 2 guys in the country with RAWS for FTOs are in Sydney. I could be wrong now, but that was the case a few months back

Actually four now. One in QLD, three in Sydney. But one of them is seriously dodge and I'd advise anyone against going there.

Hey I just got back from brissy in my FTO, 10 hours of driving, got lost in rocky but found my way out, car goes well had no problems, feels very different to my subaru liberty, a lot less body roll, my liberty used to feel like it was going to roll over when you went around a corner.

Only thing that was bad on the drive up was that I forgot to bring some CDs, and the radio didn't tune to our stations, so I need to get a new headunit soon.
