Spoke to my mechanic about getting the unichip and he advised me to get a power run done before i get the exhaust put in to make sure i dont lose power ...

So what KWs should i expect? what does a stock fto run at the wheels again ??

should you get between 90-100kw atw for a stock FTO. thats taking into account losing 1/3 power to the wheels and then the fact the car is 10 years old...

depends on:

the dyno
how its calibrated
temperature
humidity
tyre quality
tyre pressure
heat soak
the technican

a reading between 90-110kW for a unmodified car is acceptable.. again it all just depends on the above as all contribute the biggest factor however is the dyno as they are all different (even two of the same dyno models in different shops can read drastically different)

i wouldn't worry about the reading its not that important what it is useful for is generating a baseline for future mods... although technically speaking you shoud dyno straight before and after a performance mod

for example...
before my gearbox blew up my car "appeared" to be loosing power (thought the engine was going) as everytime we put something new on it it would be reading in the low 90's then get tuned back up to around 100kW ... (i almost bought a new engine)

turns out the clutch and torque converter were screwed... i haven't put it on the dyno since it was all rebuilt tougher and stronger, it will be sometime soon to see where its at...

Over 100kw atw is good.

The power i wouldn't worry about too much, as you can't really compare these things. The most inportant things would be:

a) the power curve..
b) air/fuel ratio curve..

Both the above are very usefull..
