fto mivec VS silvia 2ltr turbo

Hay guys i need advice on how to take on this and
defeat this silvia. what mods should i do to defeat him, he
has only got air filter and 3inch from cat back?
any ideas??
Me no mods and triptronic mivec, what u think

From experience, S13 Silvias can get low-mid 6s for the 0-100 with the abovementioned mods, whereas tiptronic FTOs in stock trim will need more work due to less torque and front drive configuration. The only thing I can suggest is a 50-75hp NOS setup, but these are illegal for road use... other than that, it also depends on your budget - you can do almost anything to a car as long as there's plenty of money in your pocket.

For example:

2.5" full exhaust
headers / extractors
air filter
enlarged throttle bodies
largers cams
stronger clutch
lighter flywheel
semi-slick tyres
weightstripping
NOS (!)
turbo (!!)
engine conversion (!!!)

The cheapest mod you can do for the best improvement is a POD fitler and an air intake pipe. The bend near the battery restrics the FTO markedly.
This will help a lot.
It still will not get you into the low 6`s but at least low 7`s or high 6`s.

where can i get one of these? to get more air flowing in? i got a itg pod already? what else can i do to it

If you have a GPX, you can get an air intake chamber from ARC (replaces the black plastic intake tubing).

If you have a GR, you might need to get one custom made for the MAF sensor.

If you've got a Pod filter, it might be a good idea to get some heat shielding. In addition, you can get a cold-air ram setup from the front bumper.

and what do you make heat shields out of?

Stephen has got his cold air intake and shield setup from UAS. Doesn't hurt paying them a visit I guess.

i got a arc in-take chamber too. im just wondering how much power u get out of it?

The only difference is that mine has a heat shield around it (air filter).

ok i'm not a physics junkie but wouldn't a 'chamber' in the intake path compromise the vacuum-effect from the intake by lowering the pressure??

how is a 'power chamber' any better than a conventional intake pipe??

hmmm...actually, save the physics lecture - it looks very cool and that's good enough!

OK, correct me if I'm wrong, but the vacuum (MAP) sensor for the GPX is located around the ISC right? This position is post intake pipe/chamber. So I don't think the sensor is measuring the volumetric pressure of the actual pipe/chamber.

I guess what ARC reckons the chamber will help is having excess air to be readily induced at the step of throttle.

I'm just having a stab in the dark here so don't take my word for it.

Maybe we should get Stephen to organise a chat session with a professional FTO tuner!!
