Well today is not very good for me, first crash/incident...
Was rushing somwhere and decided i can make these lights at the corner!
well taking the corner at 80km/h was a bad idea and i didnt make it. instead i ran onto some small island and hit it hard and drove straight over it...even the recovery was messy and i was all over the road. the car is still drivable but the steering is out of alighnment something cronic now. also it seems like the passenger side wheel (the one i hit) is slightly further back than the other, it now hits the guard when i turn. the rim has some lovely gouges out of the edge. tyre is still ok. passeneger side door doesnt quite close 100% perfect and the 'door closed' light now flikers a bit from the passenger door. i can only imagine that this hit has hurt the chassis a little more so getting it straightend will hopefully get the door closing perfect again.
not the best thing to happen on a nice relaxing sunday...
my lesson learned - dont drive to fast! especially around corners...

Yeah sounds like the chasis wil definetly need to be pulled straight again. Hopefully you didin't do much/any damage to the suspension and such. I know a lot of people here put sh*t on pedders, but they did a great (not to mention bloody quick) job on my car which had badly damaged rear control arms and such (the driver rear wheel was pointing at a bloody awkward angle) but they don't fix chasis damage. It wasn't the cheapest option but saved a lot of f**king around.

I know your pain. And mine was only scratched. By the sound of things though you shouldnt be driving it anywhere. All it would take is for one of those damaged bits to let go.

anybody with gpx change it there too? and how much

Ive had all my work done at Pedders in Canberra (and ive replaced most stuff). If you let me know what you have in mind, I can look through my old receipts and probably give you some indication.

Get it done quick or it's gonna cost you a lot more when your tyres go bald in a week.

Agreed same thing happened with mine get it done ASAP

It was a fair whack, but they did it overnight (including the sourcing of parts and such. $550 for a whole load of rear control arms and supports and such, $450 for the labour including 4wheel alignment. Drives like it did before the damage so i'm happy.

UPDATE... well i took my baby in to MAYTECH today. all up its probably gonna cost around a grand to have fixed. there was quite a bit of damage including the lower control arm which needs to be replaced. i think eveything else has been straightend. the total cost also includes having my chassis straightend which has made things sit a bit nicer in the front end(this was already bent as reported in a previous post). i will let you know exactly what has been done once i pay for eveything and how much it costs...

i had the same problem with my passenger side. control arm was bent and there was a rod that was bent as well. this pushed the caster of the wheel all the way back (heaps of negative caster) and I had the same prob as well. you can't drive very fast either as the car will start to go all over the shop. my repair is costing 1k to fix and that includes panel damage as well. sounds like about the right price so at least you know you're not being ripped
