Compress the spring? Or do you mean cutting the spring? Is illegal to cut any spring in Vic, I've seen it done before, & you don't just cut it like lots of backyarder does. You have to re-heat the spring at the right angle. Can't remember exactly how, but the guy i saw who did it was a Pedders specialist.

Why not just go & buy lowered spings?
King or Apex make them for the FTO - cost you $300-400

you can get it done in KNOZ CITY.
The place is called some suspension something something. cant remember exactly. i think they do allighnment as well. so as sson as you get the suspension done you dont have to go anywhere else to get your allignment fixed.

anbu,
i was thinking of getting king springs myself, but after rding what u posted, maybe not, depending how much of a difference there is. but anyway, when i went to ontherunmotorsports (located in boxhill) and spoke to johnnie, i asked him about lowering the car with springs.
he said that lowering with springs is only for short term anyway. coilovers is the way to go.
if your interested, johhnie can supply TEIN superstreet coil overs for $2200 and these TEIN are specifically designed for Australian roads. Johnnie told me that it was just released approx 2 months ago due to complaints about the Jap version being too stiff on Aus roads
These teins are height adjustable as well as soft/stiff adjustable
I also asked him if he can provide them cheaper (group buy), and he said yes, as long as theres 10 or more people wanting them - but i imagine u would struggle to get even 5
