Tacho / RPM Dial

Post by a__s__c »

hey.

I'm looking at FTO GPX's at the moment, I have found one that i like however, a couple of things wrong with it and i just wanted to know if they were easy fixes, or are common with the FTO's?

1. The RPM dial doesnt work (although the spedo does)
2. The front head lights have like a residue of them and half the lights look foggy

Any help would be great thanks

Rpm dial could be a bit fiddly. Did it have aftermarket dials? ie not the stock looking black ones? If it does, then its likely that whoever installed them killed the tacho in the process. You'd have to replace the whole instrument cluster. Not too hard a job (definitely DIY) but can be a bit $$ finding a cluster in good nic.

Frosty / Foggy headlights is an easy fix - the a DIY on it in the 'DIY' section of this forum. Its just takes a little time to do

my tacho stopped working on me last week some time and I'll be taking it soon to get it checked out. think it's a loose connection somewhere as all other dials work fine.
